This is my main problem with any kind of insurance. Whether you have it or not, you're gambling.

I tend to get really sick about 2 times a year (when I'm not taking care of myself), requiring meds. It pays off for me.

I want to play Sins of a Solar Empire, but I need to register Diplomacy, but I can't seem to get the serial number, they email me the serial numbers for everything but Sins, and on top of that, Impulse continues to crap out on me for some reason, so I can't update Sins. I really need a job so I can get a new comp.
This game is soooo hard. I always start out peacefully in every strategy game I play and I eventually build my army but the opponents in this game start right away! I tried doing the same thing but it still doesn't work...

It might make sense, but the policies offered to me through work are rather lackluster. For instance, once I get my current dental work done, I'm dropping it and just paying out of pocket for further expenses; it doesn't cover anything expensive that I can't afford anyway, and will cost me far more in the long run.
Health insurance is probably not all that much better, barring catastrophe, but at least I'm far more likely to need it.

Health insurance is an utter joke since the passage of the new Health Care reform last year. My insurance deductible jumped from $2,500 to $10,000 to cover all the increased costs. I was basically told i was SOL when I almost needed a gallbladder removal last month. Fortunately it just turned out to be an ulcer, or I would be screwed.

My health insurance has always been a joke, since my jobs have offered the bare minimum and I can't afford better on my own. Thankfully, I haven't needed it.
But yeah, insurance is just betting the insurance company that you will get sick at some point, and the only reason it stays afloat is because most people will never get more out than they put in, or even come close to breaking even.

On the topic of health care, I wish that everyone had access to the system we have in Canada. It has its issues, yes, but I realize how lucky we are.

Now if only the system would work long enough that I didn't have to go twice to get my health card back (and still don't have it back, but thank you mail strike for that). I think being honest in our system tends to be the worst you could do, just gets back on you in the end when they lose your card. :/

...I've never had that issue, so I guess it's all about perspective.

Well, when you leave the country or province for a certain period of time (think it's 6 months+), you're required (you can get away with not doing it sometimes, but my insurance company was very insistent that it be done before giving me my coverage) to turn in your health card. Getting it back gets really annoying and frustrating when the temporary card gets lost in the mail, they keep telling you to go to different branches and their system goes down every time you're there.
I just have had a lot of hassle with them, even trying to turn in my card was annoying, they refused to believe I was turning in my card because I didn't carry the original letter of admission (Never technically got one).

Yeah, they say rather similar things. However, I can't really fix it cause I work in law enforcement :c

Ah. Definitely makes sense then. City police? County Mounty? State officer?

If I remember right, Seraku is a dispatcher for police on a college campus.

Yeah, dispatcher at a private college.
