Meh, I did fine without A/C for 2 years in the Philippines. You just gotta adjust to the heat. I lost a lot of my cold tolerance during that time period. I felt like a wuss when I got home and didn't like the cold anymore.

Classes...are horrible this quarter. The likelihood for me to login is declining as the homework piles up....Sigh...And I was just about to get married and have kids! But, duty calls.

yah, strangely enough I wish I still lived in Germany. I doubt many people would expect Germany to be a place to get tolerant to heat but it can get damn hot there during summer and they don't have A/C...like...at all. And their windows...I luff those windows.

Here in southern Utah, we have extremes. In the winter it can get downright ing cold. I can't count the number of times i've had to thaw out my car in order to get in it. But during the summer, you'll have the A/C going all day long, and it can easily get over 100.

Haha, yah that sounds like Germany...well atleast sothern Germany. Can't actually speak about the whole country since I only lived in S. Germany >.>

It's also like that in New Jersey, except during the winter it also turns into a ghost town, which I don't mind. What I mind is when all the tourists come down from New York during the summer.
Stangmar2011-07-23 16:18:56
It's scary being in a desert college town during the winter. You have a bunch of freshman students from out of the area who didn't realize it snows here in the winter, and they're sliding all over the roads when it does snow.
Ilyssa2011-07-23 16:22:34
Heh. New Yorkers don't need ice to slide all across the roads.

I don't do well in the heat at all, I really can't adapt to it, even walking around I have to stop moving because my legs get so itchy I feel like tearing them off.
I can't wait for winter to come back, I am definitely Canadian. Need my cold and snow.

See, I thought I was the same way. I absolutely hated the heat a few years ago. My apartment in college had the A/C on 24/7 at 50 degrees. It felt like a meat locker at a butcher shop. When I worked at the grocery store, I took my lunch breaks in the dairy cooler. My first months in the Philippines were hell as far as climate adjustment goes. I absolutely hated the heat/humidty. But I eventually adjusted. I still liked to find A/C when I could, but by the time I came home, I generally wasn't even using an electric fan at night to sleep.

I'd agree, were it not for the reactions I have with the heat.

Now my left leg hurts. The foot is still swollen, but there is some nerve in the leg itself that hurts when I touch it too hard. Guess I'll have to get the doctors appointment now, blargh. I can't walk around with my leg feeling like that. I also don't think the temperatures of over 100 are helping. Blegh.

Are you sick in the early morning too? Strange cravings?

800 degree weather plus a thunderstorm is not good for business. I also left my dogs indoors today on accpunt of the heat, but my entire family is away and no one can check on them. Poor guys.
EDIT: And I'm pretty sure my power's out, which means they could be getting a little warm. At least I'll be home in about an hour.

They are, but unfortunately I've got to be service with a ing smile. Maybe that's why I quit this year.
The problem with that job was that I have, or at least I'd like to think I have, a better work ethic than most other sixteen year-olds - as in I have one, but I'm not as much of a people person and that job largely relied on personal tips from carrying out gear for the beachgoers and maintaining the beach( Part of which was sweeping sand off a beach pathway; I've never done anything more futile.) so that job turned out to be all work and below minimum pay.

I always want to tip the waiter, even when its a country where you generally do not tip.
They always return my money, as if I paid too much, ITS A TIP GOD DAMN IT, TAKE IT.
