We might have strict gun laws, but you're guaranteed to get off with self-defence if you stab a burglar you catch on your property.

POISON GAS

TRUST ME.

After the first poison gas attack, no one will ever break into your property again.

All my defensive mechanisms have to be transferable in the event of a zombie apocalypse, and everybody knows the undead don't breathe. Gotta think, Cas.

Set something to trigger shooting saw blades through the air?
Stangmar2011-08-25 21:03:25
A classic zombie apocalypse requires shotguns(although I believe those ARE legal in the UK).

Also, due to a little piece of magic legislation adopted by many states, known as Castle Doctrine, I have the right to shoot anybody on my property that is there to commit a felony. I just have to make sure they don't make it outside the house after the shooting. This has also been recently extended to one's automobile.

You guys are getting kinda creepy surrender.gif

Yeah, I know about the 'make my day' law, however, that does in fact vary from state to state. Wikipedia has a chart, I think.
Stangmar2011-08-25 21:38:29
You are correct, it does vary from state to state.

I don't know what state you live in, but this is what wikipedia has to stay about self-defense in Utah
QUOTE
Utah has historically adhered to the principles of "stand your ground" without the need to refer to this new legislation. The use of deadly force to defend persons on one's own property is specifically permitted by Utah state law. The law specifically states that a person does not have a duty to retreat from a place where a person has lawfully entered or remained.

As mentioned in the quote, this is a stand your ground law. It encompasses all the principles of Castle Doctrine AND also includes any public location where the one defending himself is legally present. So if you're just minding your own business at the store or on a sidewalk, and somebody attacks you, you can use lethal force with no duty to retreat or announce your intentions.

But anyways, because for me, this is a rave rather than a rant, I shall throw in a rant:

I have Accounting homework due tomorrow and I can't even DO it yet because my stupid textbook hasn't arrived. Not a good way to start the semester....

That's an awesome idea, but I'm way too clumsy to be around such lethal traps. I'd end up in the Darwin Awards.

EDIT: Though with that said, when the zombies do begin to rise (you know it's inevitable), that's the first trap I'm angling for.

I'm concerned about this hurricane. Fiance says not to worry, we're most likely far enough inland, but then what about mom and sis? Sis can come here since we have the space, but I don't have room for four other people and four cats! I worry about them too...
Unknown2011-08-26 00:44:56
The agreement on the place I was going to rent fell through. Can I just go paint a cardboard box and live in it?
Shulamit2011-08-26 17:14:31
So sis and mom and the rest of them were mandatory evacuated. So...I have sister. And with no warning, two cats. With just the two, we shoved them into the bathroom and let them use that box and food and water, so all of them don't go roar! Also tried to get some extra stuff at the CVS....hahaha. No way in hell. There wasn't even any parking! (and that's rare!) The deli however was fine, so we bought tons of food, mostly perishables. Part of me says gah, this will be bad! The other part says you are far enough inland, stop that! Sigh.

Ha, I remember hearing about that first one. What's the point of setting up an elaborate series of riddles to explain the traps? Why not just, like, remember where they are? Was he a goddamn Batman villain?

Likely, he wanted to make sure he remembered where they were and make sure that no one else could figure out where they were from the list.

And to his valiant effort, I say this.

The last three days I have just wanted to crawl in a hole and cry. Paypal, stuff at work, and now... I'm $50 short on rent due to the stupid paypal mistake.
