Half tempted to come back, but I know it will cost me $60-$120 (at the lesson sale prices) to be where I'd need to be skill-wise thanks to all the guild hopping, and if I don't decide soon, that price will pretty much double.

Plus the money is not the whole issue, still undecided on how much I really want to get drawn into this again. confused.gif

I know the amount of money isn't always the meat of the issue, but I try to be mindful of the fact that in the late 1980s and early-to-mid 1990s, players used to pay dollars per hour to access MUDs (as well as the very first graphical MMORPGs). Especially when you allow for inflation since then, in a very real sense we have it easy.

Of course, we live in the now, so what well-to-do geeks of yesteryear used to pay to play has little bearing on our decision-making and thought processes today.

ANYWAY! My dissatisfaction isn't all that bad, but it's a bit of a hassle: Since I'm visiting my mother right now, I've moved to playing Lusternia on her netbook (it's her only home computer, and it really does everything she needs it to). Going from 1680 x 1050 resolution, a full-sized keyboard, and a full-featured, familiar mouse to 1024 x 600 resolution, a small keyboard that requires a toggle to use the numpad (MUD movement shortcuts), and a trackpad instead of a mouse is not easy.

Still, I get the sense it wouldn't take long to get used to. And thank goodness I brought my client and its settings/aliases with me on a USB stick.

Why am I suddenly getting really dizzy while I'm just sitting here? Been happening once every few weeks or so, really disconcerting. sad.gif

Low blood pressure? Orthostatic Hypotension?

My blood pressure is usually pre-hypertensive if anything, but I haven't done a full set of checks on it. I have passed out once upon standing, actually, but these are just me sitting here, usually for an hour or more.

I feel very stupid that my first thought was that maybe you're deaf, but then you wouldn't hear our responses. I need to go take a nap.

If he keeps asking the same question over and over, followed by "Hello? Anyone?", we'll know thats probably the problem.

Low blood sugar? Diabetes!?

That's about my extent of knowledge as a med student.

I had just eaten dinner. sad.gif Should mention it to a doctor maybe, if I ever get health insurance.

You might look into the possibility of either an inner ear disorder or an iron deficiency.

Last night and today I wasn't feeling very well, in quite a bit of pain, so I miss my first lesson, I drag myself in for my other two lessons (Wednesdays are half-days) only to find that neither of my teachers were here, I wasn't allowed to leave the school site, so I was basically stuck sitting there in extreme discomfort without access to any pain killers for a few hours whilst doing the same work I would have done at home anyway.

Also, I didn't get ANY sleep due to said pain and so I'm very, very grouchy.

Low Blood Sugar is a symptom of not eating enough food, not being diabetic. It's just more common in them because they can't build up as large a supply of sugar as a non-diabetic can.

At least I'm fairly sure that's how it works. I've no-where near enough medical knowledge to be trusted on this.

As I understand it you'd have to have pretty much zero body fat for it to be as a result of not eating enough.

In general body fat isn't used for energy untill you've expended almost all of your carbohydrates. It's one of the reasons why athletes have so much trouble with "hitting the wall". When your body switches from Carbs to stored lipids, the change is a fairly drastic.

(Still isn't a reliable source. This is mostly from info from a couple of years ago that I mostly forgot.)

I recieved my state income tax refund check today, in the amount of $466.

Wait for it... wait for it....

My wife, who I am estranged from and will be divourcing asap, is in Texas, whereas I'm in Arkansas. Her name is on the check too.

... I cut my right index finger while I was opening a can, pretty deep... Didn't hurt, cause of that and it kept bleeding... like a long time. ouch.gif

And I don't really think Nicholo fits-in in Hallifax, much... Considering to grovel back to Gaudiguch... hide.gif

But I'm not sure, this is hard... explode.gif

Actual book title: How to Help Your Husband Make More Money So You Can be a Stay-at-Home Mom, by Joanne Watson

This woman needs purging from the gene pool.

Too late, apparently. She whipped her husband into shape so she could nurture her spawn...and write a book.

EDIT: In other points of general dissatisfaction, stringstreams. I know that C++ only does what you tell it to do, but we seem to be having a miscommunication, because two lines that look exactly the same to me are producing very different results.

Well as long as YOUR name is on the check, you can cash it to your account, aye?

Work schedule still sucks, still no word on when I'm getting the tiny little extra bit of training I need to be promoted. At least it's still a kick-ass job with awesome benefits. Just... the hours! T_T
