Sometimes I start up some clickin' action when my carpal tunnel starts deciding to be a jerk. You'd THINK this would just lead to me stopping being on the computer altogether, but, you know, whatevs. If it was that easy to pry myself from this machine I likely would not have developed that particular problem in the first place.

Since I'm using my mother's netbook while I'm here visiting, I lean forward a bit to to see the small screen (it's probably not strictly necessary to lean forward, but I'm used to a big widescreen monitor).

After three hours of MUDding, my neck is killing me. And yet, I will keep going....

Note to self: If you get a portable computer, get a full-size laptop, no matter how cool and cute netbooks are.

And don't get a 15 inch screen.

Go for the extra 2 inches. 17 inch Widescreen is worth it.

For 5 months I have been paying my garage rent to my leasing office as instructed. And for 5 months they have not been sending that money to the company that they subcontracted their garages out to. And so, for a second time, the garage management is threatening to evict me from the garage. I even asked if I should start sending the checks directly to them, and they told me no. Thank God I only have one more month with this pathetic excuse for a rental company.

That somehow doesn't sound legal.
Everiine2010-04-22 02:48:35
Well, the management company isn't getting the money-- they have every right to demand an eviction because according to their books, I have not paid rent on the garage since January.

It's the rental company that is F*ed up in the head like no other. Twice they themselves have threatened us with eviction because they "misplaced" our rent money AFTER cashing the checks. It's the same thing with the garage-- I have copies of my checks that go all the way back to December, two months before the other company took over the garages, all stamped by the rental company's bank as being deposited.

The kicker is that the rental company claims they can't even check my account for the garage because they aren't the company that runs it. I am going to rip them a new one on Friday...

If you've offered to pay them and they refuse the payment, I'm pretty sure they can't then evict you for not paying. But IANAL. I'd think they'd have more of a beef with the rental company that isn't paying them. And if you have proof you paid them, and they claim you didn't and trying to throw you out, then you win, I'd think.

Either way, crappy situation, hope you get it all fixed.
Everiine2010-04-22 04:09:12
I'm heading to their office probably on Friday (I'm busy on campus tomorrow from 7:30am - 10:00pm with few breaks), and will personally pull their heads out of their asses.
Ikkan2010-04-22 14:46:41
Univeristy has scheduled me four finals in three days, missing exam hardship by exactly one hour, not counting writing time...

On the plus side, I finish by Friday.

On the minus side, I'm finished by Friday x_x

So I get into a group via the random dungeon finder (in wow na klar) and everything's going ok for the first 10 sec. Then the tank yells "JUSTIN BIEBER IS AWESOME." I'm liek ok..... Two of the other people are like 'yea she is so much better than miley.' Tank's all like, "dude Justin Bieber is a guy." The hunter (one of two that agreed) is like no, she's a girl! So I decide to look up this person and see that Wikipedia AND the guy's site both say that its a guy. While doing so, the hunter says "Listen to her voice, she's totally a girl!" I'm like "well, no that's not true because I'm a girl and I've been told I sound like a young boy (;-; )." I also say that wikipedia and the guy's site say it is a boy, and the hunter is like "so you trust everything you read on the internet? you must think gaga is a guy then too." I'm like well no, of course not. Tank left before I agreed with him about this person's gender. And then when I make the last remake the hunter leaves. Then the other two leave because the tank and hunter left. And I'm standing there going wtf?

WTF.

It's random pugs in WoW. If that's the worst you've had, you got off lucky.

Oh no, I've had fail pugs before. That's just the first one where it disbanded because of a debate about the gender of some random kiddy singer person thing.

And I also kind of go through pugs with my mind numbed and completely ignoring everyone and everything while still doing my job >.>

The TV's on in the background, tuned to C-Span's coverage of the U.S. House of Representatives. Right now, they're talking about nuclear sanctions.

As usual, not a few of the politicians are mispronouncing the word "nuclear." That drives me up the wall....

That's basically what I do. Either I'm healing or tanking while the hamster that turns the wheel to make my brain work takes a nap, so I just kind of auto-pilot. It makes life so much easier.

What sucks is when I have to DPS, because I keep playing classes that demand a specific, somewhat complex, rotation (cat Druid, shadow Priest, etc ><).

Everiine - Good luck, man. I'm sorry you're having to deal with that BS and wish I could help somehow. :<

Know the pain of pugs in WoW, why I tend not to run them anymore. If I could pick certain people from other servers would be much better as I have server transferred two of my characters and it would be awesome to play with some of my old friends, but also a few of my friends that I have found on Lunsternia that plays too. However, it (supposedly) goes by gear score, where my priest is pretty low (embarrassingly so) and my paladin is quite up there. Anyhow, when I do pug I usually pay no mind to what is going on unless someone leaves or is being a complete idiot. Usually take two of my own dps from my guild (two people I live with both play, what do you know more paladins) so it makes it a bit easier that way.

I was actually amazed at the good luck I had when I was gearing up my Paladin to tank. I hit level 80 and was immediately def capped, but only had about 23k health, so I expected a lot of people to leave the dungeons. However, most people actually didn't and were really cool with my being a fresh 80.

I tend to have the worst luck with Tortheldrinites though. I'm not sure what it is, but they can be extremely rude (though I've found they're the most rude in Battlegrounds).

Have any of you heard of RPG.net? It's a website and forums dedicated to tabletop roleplaying games and related miscellany, such as geeky card and board games. It's been around for a decade or so at this point.

I've been a member and poster there for years, and there is a large, experienced Horde guild (for RPG.net members only) called Blacksky Company on the Kirin Tor server. I'm 99% sure the guild is still up and running.

Due to the nature of the membership, most of Blacksky Company's members are very mature and well spoken. People who play MUDs and people who play tabletop have quite a lot in common. Creating an RPG.net account for the sole purpose of joining Blacksky Company is not frowned upon, as long as you're not a dumdum.

BSC is an excellent guild, though not even it could prevent my interest in WoW from fading after 4-5 months (circa 2007). The game's just not for me. But if you do enjoy WoW, and are unhappy with your current guild and/or server, you might want to look into BSC.

I only mention this because I know from experience that guilds of BSC's caliber are hard to find.

Every guild I'm in goes through a 5 step process.

1. Look to the future hopefully.
2. Promote me to officer
3. Have all of the OTHER officers leave, promptly overloading me with work.
4. GM goes inactive. I become the Defacto guild leader.
5. Collapse.

It's irritating.

My sleep schedule is so screwed up. Not even mentioning my tendency to pull consecutive all-nighters, just the past two days my sleep has been: sleep 3 hours, wake up at 1am, go to sleep at 5pm, wake up at 7pm, go to sleep at 7am, wake up at 9am, to me being awake still, right now. Bluh.

GM isn't supposed to be guild leader anyway. GM is guild representative on the council (the real work of the job), plus ceremonial figurehead within the guild.

Yeah, GA has SO much more guild power.
