Still. BC tracker, put down a pit or two, maybe some leg snares on the other exits. Maybe puissance up, wait for someone to walk in, crush crush. You'd only need like, two combos to squish most non Demis.
That's 2k per hit, right? And not power attack?

I imagine that if they had closer to 4K health, it would not have done as much damage.
But someone who has OOC friends in the game, needs to test it more thoroughly.
Well, technically it was 1K damage and 516 wounds for one weapon, hitting with one arm. Just a normal "jab"

Hrm... seems that things have become quiet on this thread. Any word about forging changes on kata weapons? What's the plan!
No love for monks? Or forgers? Or MONK FORGERS? Hrm.
Bump.
Any word when and if forging kata weapons will be changed? Or will this issue just be shelved for the time being. I am still facing the issue of warrior forgers not exactly coming forward to make kata weapons to a certain spec using the old forging system. (I also have a nekai design that incorporates non-metal comms that I am simply dieing to have made).
Really? Nothing? No word at all?
So monks will have to stay under the old forging system with all metal nekai designs...

You forget. He has 5s balance, 4.5s at best. You're not going to damage kill someone with a damage output of 2k and only 1k wounds in that kind of timeframe.

Poor monks, no one is willing to show them any love for some reason.

Because, while it would be nice if tempering shields were possible, it's not typically terribly difficult to get decent stats on them.
But kata weapons... someone asking a forger to make a pair of 110s is...
The horror...
The horror...

Warriors waited longer.
Damadreas2009-06-28 06:26:27
Warriors were capable of sufficing their own needs during their wait. Warriors are now in the position to effectively remove the production of kata weapons, and in some cases have. You can't draw direct comparisons here.

Thank you Damadreas. I'm glad somebody else finally spoke up. I found a certain reluctance on the part of some forgers to make kata weapons... especially to specs. Then there are other forgers who have swooned in the vacuum and can now charge much more (aka gouging). Of course, these generalizations don't describe everyone. I've had one or two people come up "cross enemy organization" and offer to take up my bulk order for novice nekai.

- Forging changes for warrior weapons and not kata has affected the willingness of cooperating forgers who no longer care to participate under the time consuming old system.
- Monks are at the whim of the market, since we cannot directly help ourselves. It's a combination on the forging chance for some in light of the reliance on warrior forgers that is particularly frustrating.

I know Khariel would still forge for Katas at 110 if it were feasable- he forged 105s for a while, but those were still anywhere from ten minutes to over two hours per, and at that point it'd be more efficient (cost-wise) for any forger to go hunting over forging. The solutions are either to let the new change apply to kata (Thus destroying the high-cost/labor end of Kata forging), OR, let monks take forging (thus letting them run their own markets, without having to rely on warrior forgers who don't have the time to forge cheap kata weapons), OR make all kata forgings automatically x/x/110, since that's all anybody wants these days (or start them at x/x/105, or something, so max-speed is easier to get). the problem lies in the fact that it takes 1 in 6,000-something (Ask Rika, she figures all these numbers out!) forgings (average) to get a 110-speed kata weapon. at a minute a forging, that's still a lot of hours of forging to get 110s.
Suffice to say, something needs to be done!

Well, the answer was in the thread that resorted to flaming. Because of the ridiculous effect of high speed kata weapons they were left off because they are going to look at the formula behind that, so, for now they aren't included.
