I really wish the searchable help index on lusternia.com were more like the ingame one. They're so out of synch it makes me sad. sad.gif

Same here, although 'incompetent' is usually replaced by 'stupid' in my case. Then again, are they really that different?

Nope!

Taokaka, who is a character from BlazBlue. Give her description a look, then look up a picture of Taokaka via a quick 'Google'. It's not like the game is obscure or anything, either - it was nominated and (apparently won) best fighting game of '09 on a couple sites (IGN included, so I'm told?).

If you see a name like that, tell a guide about it. I know that I would not have known that it was from something.
Rodngar2010-01-13 01:18:29
I saw it way after it was assumable to think too late. It looks like somebody established, so I kind of just shut my eyes and ignored it. sad.gif

Lots of names are from something. It's completely ridiculous to expect the guides to force a namechange just because someone's name is the same as some supporting character from some non-mainstream videogame. The person didn't even necessarily get it from there as they could have easily made it up on their own, and even if they did, so what? The guides generally don't bother with that sort of thing unless you name your character, like, Gandalf or something.

I personally liked the new strange name newbie, "Whygodwhy" who was a Paladin. I lol'ed. It makes me miss when we first opened on Kongregate...Remember that month?

You can't stand for 'chaos'. It's not an ideal that you can fight for, it's just a measurement of distribution. You can stand for freedom, which generally means a greater level of chaos, or you can stand for order, which generally means a lesser degree of chaos. I'm trying to remember Black Mage's rant from 8-bit theater (jesus it's been awhile since I read that) about how intangible a thing 'chaos' is but I can't dredge it up right now. Preaching that there should be 'more chaos' would be absurd because it doesn't mean anything. Preaching for more freedom, on the other hand, would make perfect sense, and from that point it could be argued that more chaos would arise in such a system. But the chaos itself isn't the thing you desire, it's just a byproduct.

Is it sad that I know the exact rant you're talking about and can probably find the correct chapter?

Don't denying anything you said, except for one thing.

I believe Chaos here is a property, not the ideal or the byproduct. Gaudiguch has the property of being Chaotic, while Hallifax has the property of being Orderly. And yes, Order is the opposite of Chaos in every way.

Gaudiguch would preach for something in which it can flourish, that is, their chaotic self will only flourish on a free space. Hallifax would demand harmony and "neatness" so they can flourish as a harmonic and orderly entity.

EDIT: Wish to expand on it? Awesome, let's create a thread halo.gif

If any of you are interested in old school RPGs with a real realistic bent to 'em, you should check out Darklands. You'll probably need Dosbox too, unless you have a dinosaur of a system.

I remembered it too! I know for a fact I'm sadder than you, too - I read about 12 webcomics total and occasionally do an archive trawl of each to freshen me up.

I do the same with the ones I still like (Penny Arcade, Achewood, etc.) but I've since realized that 8-bit is a pile of crap.

It used to be semi decent.... or maybe I just grew up.
Shaddus2010-01-13 22:14:54
I still read 8-bit, but the writer is running out of stuff from Final Fantasy 1 to put, and 90% of the stuff he uses nowadays is just filler.
