I've never understood why guild leaders arrange for their successors in advance. Or maybe I'm just whining because no one seems interested in replacing me, if I decide I want to go too.

They usually don't, but the Cantors are so understaffed they have to make sure the position won't be left unfilled.

And I'm sure you would have figured it out without essentially making the decision for the rest of us. That's what elections are for, actually.

I didn't figure out jack. This is what happened from my viewpoint almost verbatim.

Day 1: Gm Says, "Hey. I want to quit my position, if I do will you contest?" I say yes.
Day 2: Gm says, "Hey. Champion would rather be GM and You'd make a good champion, would you contest for that instead?" I say, meh. Sure.
Day 3: Champion says, "Hey. Are you still planning on contesting for Champion so I can be GM?" ...Yes. Leave me the alone about it, geez.
Day 4: Today.

Day 5: Pectus reads forums, decides to stay because she doesn't want the guild to implode under the weight of stupid and exodus.

The thing that pisses me off is that I don't want Champion. I did, but when I recently moved I had to downgrade to dialup. I can't be Champion on dialup
