Right. That's the result of a scavenger hunt run by Xypher for the Serenwilde about a week ago.

Oi, Xypher's got the ability to use programmed illusions, too, so there's no excuse.

Ew, lame. What area?

In the i'Xiia Asylum, the recess area. So many things about that quest annoy me. There's a couple items you need on what seems like a 10-15 minute reset, a key that can break when you unlock a chest that you can only take 1 thing out of that may snap shut and re-lock when you take something out. And there's only like a 50% chance of getting the reward I actually want.

But the possible rewards are pretty dang sweet. <,<
Kiradawea2010-05-01 22:22:04
Oh? Possible rewards? I only ever get the powergem when I do it.

Ceria's elixir.
Rika2010-05-01 22:30:59
Don't need to get into the recreational area to do the "good" side of the quest.
Kiradawea2010-05-01 23:40:13
You don't get that for completing the quest though. That's the "halfway done" reward.
Lehki2010-05-01 23:48:01
@Rika: I know that you know that I know how to do this quest. One of the wardens wandered in there before it closed and he had one of generator pieces.

@Kiradawea: You can also find a mini parasite that you give to somebody else to grief them.

EDIT:Would be nice if the wardens all rushed out of their like the mugwumps do when it was about to close.

Influencing triggers saving me from carpal tunnel. So much easier.

Darned fink slayer achievements making it more difficult to quest on Mucklemarsh due to the finks all being dead.

Clearly, they should just speed things along by quadrupling the fink population there. It's pretty sparse and empty as is.

Yay for filling kegs and making gold ^-^

Aoife is now an Earless.

This, of course, means that half of Gaudiguch is now asking her what happened to her ears sad.gif

It's hilarious that that title is still in the system. Someone should typo it already. (The proper feminine form of Earl is Countess, unfortunately ambiguous since that's also the feminine form of Count, but hey, that's how it goes.) Or probably it has been typoed and dismissed many times.

I'm fairly sure Count/ess also shows up elsewhere ... is it the city conquest Councillors? So probably to avoid confusion with that.

Of course, they could just pick another title other than Earl.
Unknown2010-05-02 14:42:56
Or they could keep it Earl/Earless because Earl/Countess seems more silly when you actually think about it.

Earless is a nonsense word. It's "more silly" to use a nonsense word than a real one.

"Count" is approximately the same level, nobility-wise, as Earl. There is no feminine form of Earl in the English language, so women of that rank (in areas where this still exists, obviously) are styled as Countess.

I did idea changing it to countess, though I doubt it'll happen anytime soon. If Countess is already in use for another governing style, perhaps Marquess and Marchioness or Viscount and Viscountess (both ranks above Baron/Baroness) might do.

By decree of Holy Emperor Cellophane II, female earls are earless'.

Both already in use, again by city conquest. Although I believe it's Marquis and Marquessa, I would need to check ....
