Thanks Ardmore!

Can you unsnub me so I can test something? :|
Lorina2010-05-17 01:21:30
I can't unsnub you. I snubbed you so I wouldn't say something stupid I would regret.

But... I always knew you loved me, you didn't have to hide it.

Gah I am in a bad mood right now sad.gif
Everyone wants something and I have a short fuse now a days. That's why I am retiring. And of course I love you!
Eventru2010-05-17 01:24:50
I advise being careful about posting about people snubbing you. There's a reason trying to get around it IG is a Bad Thing.
Ardmore2010-05-17 01:28:51
I did not name names, and they replied to me announcing it was them, thank you.

Edit: came off rude, sorry, but I know.

I know the feeling.

Last week, on three or four of the seven days, my Internet connection would randomly slow to a crawl for long periods of time. The slowdowns would start suddenly, then (hours later) end just as abruptly. During them, I had significant pauses between moving from room to room in-game, or doing anything for that matter.

The first couple of times the slowdowns occurred, I reset my router and modem repeatedly, connected the modem directly to my computer (thus taking the router out of the loop), connected the modem directly to my roommate's laptop, and all that sort of stuff, with no change. I'm 99% sure it was the cable provider's fault, which is annoying since they're usually rock-solid.

I thought of calling the cable company to complain, but I'm properly jaded these days and knew I'd first have to be on hold for fifteen minutes, answer a barrage of questions designed for imbeciles ("Is your modem plugged in?"), and then the customer service person wouldn't be able to do anything to fix it regardless. ranting.gif

this week is going to take forever sad.gif
Siam2010-05-17 07:14:07
That's exactly what I go through, Felicia. /comfort

Also, if people want to delete divinefire, can we instead turn it into a skill we can use against mobs for X essence ala ascendant destruction? please? smile.gif

What is this everyone and why am I not in on it? Feed me juicy rumours, O all ye people!

It seems as though bards are an unpopular archetype in general. I guess they're considered a "dump class" just as Charisma was considered a "dump stat" back in the AD&D days... or more specifically, people find the idea of being a warrior, sorcerer, or druid a lot more appealing than being a musician/performer. As themes go, I guess it's just not as strong as the others.

It certainly can't be for any other reason I'm aware of. Bards are top of the pile at influencing (depending on race), about average at bashing (also depending on race), particularly useful in group PvP, and seem to do just fine one-on-one, in the right hands. They're also comparatively inexpensive to start off with in terms of lesson outlay and artifacts, or so it's been said.

P.S.: Where do those tables come from, and what are the column headers supposed to be?

TOPGUILDS.
Noola2010-05-17 12:34:29
Pfft. If I weren't so intimidated by the fact that I couldn't write poetry if someone put a gun to my head, I'd make a bard alt. I think the bards are nifty!
Lendren2010-05-17 12:45:49
Bards will never be as popular as the more mainstream classes but they still serve a purpose in that they provide a hook for a group of players who might not otherwise play (and thus, might not otherwise buy credits), a large enough group to be worth the effort of maintaining them. If bards got deleted many of the people playing them would move to another class, but many more would simply stop playing.

I'm not sure if you can say the same about monks but I'll leave it to Shiribot to say.
