Good lord I need to learn how to type faster. Somebody puts up like 30 credits on the market at slightly less outrageous prices, and by the time I can type
CREDITS BUY 15 AT
they're gone. Every. Single. Time.

I believe people have automated buying credits to the point where any mention of "credits" on "market" makes them check and buy in less than a second.

Don't be afraid to say "Seeking cheaper credits!" over the market aether. I suspect there are people about who are more than willing to sell for 7,000 per credit or a smidge less, although if you only buy 10 to 15 credits at a time (?), perhaps not.
It may take days or even a week or three, but you should find a seller eventually. Just pop the question out there every once in a while and see what happens, maybe.
Ardmore2010-05-19 22:26:14
Yeah, when I advertised my credits they were gone in 2 seconds. Had to be automated, no one can type that fast! :<

I wonder if it's being done for profit?
Use scripts to keep checking the credit market and buy anything that goes up for 7,000 or less. Also using scripts, put those credits back up for sale at 7,150 or more.
100 bought-and-resold credits later, you could have... 15,000-30,000 gold. Now you can afford to buy 2-4 credits of your own.
Hopefully there are rules in place to prevent or curtail that (haven't read anything related to it lately).
Riluna2010-05-19 22:37:24
7000 is outrageous too.

The only places I've been jumped for hunting without being a dedicated enemy of somewhere are racial or org grounds (Merians, Tosha, Illithoid/Kephera, That trill place, Earth, etc). Oh, and on Astral once.

Automating it, I don't know, but why would there be rules against the playing the credit market like that?

Rules against automation, I would hope. In theory, one could mostly-AFK (or go bashing) and let the script work on its own, basically bringing in profit with no effort, only an initial setup and capital.
Certainly, doing it manually is completely reasonable, because then a robot's not doing all the work for you.
Hard to prove, though. This being an online game, however, it wouldn't surprise me at all... people are mighty clever when it comes to amassing wealth.
It may not even be possible for some reason I'm unaware of.
Eventru2010-05-19 22:55:58
It is inappropriate (and punishable by the administration) to have auto-buying triggers for the market, under the same guise as auto-influencing and the like. You need to be at the keyboard, aware - AFK buying is not allowed, and people have been punished in the past for it.
Felicia2010-05-19 23:03:52
Oh, good.
Rael2010-05-19 23:26:42
I have a 'cfs' credits for sale alias and I've clocked credits disappearing in under 3 seconds.
If you're doing it manually you typically have to take gold out of a container, type 'credits for sale', think about the price and quantity, and then make the purchase.
