Back to Common Grounds.

I must be the only one but when I was a Paladin and I changling'd to Merian, I thought they were a pretty good race.

Yes, the disadvantage to fire/electricity sucks, and the reason they seemed so bad was because all the top Mag fighters (who were warriors!) had fire/lightning runes on their weapons.

I don't think they need changing.

Let me introduce you to a little guild called the Pyromancers...

Oh yes, racial rebalancing was on that poll too, wasn't it?

There you are, for the inquisitive mind.

True, but we had a race overhaul before, remember when everyone got infinate reincarnations for a week? And Merians were left with high weaknesses, low con and nothing to make up for it but a high intelligence.

Edit at Ardmore: Ok, maybe it's just regular/Imperial that's broken, but you got FIVE extra con.

Prioritizing which improvements to focus on via poll seems fair, although I would venture to guess that anything remotely related to combat will win through 9 times out of 10.

Merian stats don't effect me at all and probably never will, but I do think they need a review. I don't see anyone complaining about faelings, or if they do, it's only about the low CON which we all know is balanced by a huge pile of other benefits.

I disagree about the poll part, because not everyone who plays the game uses the forums.
If anything, it should be a game-wide referendum.

Last time that happened, it was really really close, wasn't it? 116 to 124 or something like that?

Also, faeling get complained about during Justice competitions (as do wild elfen).

I'd thought of that, but I actually wasn't certain if the polls were restricted to the forum (for all I knew, there was an in-game equivalent, too). It seemed unlikely, but uncertainty was enough to keep me from commenting on it.

We're in agreement on that point, then.

I had to perform a forum search to find out what Justice competitions are.

I presume people complain that they're too powerful, then, due to faelings being the most optimal race for that sort of thing?
Unknown2010-05-21 23:20:47
Spec'd Faeling - especially with the amount of domoth blessings usually on them nowadays (4-5), are pretty sweet. Just because of the domoths (And Faelings having no racial disadvantages), you'll see even a lot of unspec'd caster-type Faelings in the other orgs.

Oh well in that case I change my opinion.

Just kidding.

Trying to take people aetherbashing, but can't get any vortexes for dragons to spawn, so go back to etherwilde dock and there's some other ship there hogging all the vortexes, and the one we try to use spits out karibidean. ):
Razenth2010-05-22 02:04:35
Blow up the other ship. Take control of vortices. Problem solved.

I hailed them instead, which I've never gotten to do before, and (not so)subtly pointed out that I wanted to blow them up, that was pretty fun.
Razenth2010-05-22 02:28:58
Should've done it anyways. And shouldn't have warned them. Surprise is the best strategy.

They were a Celest ship apparently, and moonhart circle is apparently trying to work out some with Celest so I'm not allowed to. ):

The failboat is doing 30 knots today, and I've got a ticket to ride!

To start off with, I accidentally kicked a commune guard at the nexus. My influencing and bashing "systems" have been patched together by me personally, which means they're terrible, and I left a setting enabled which caused me to attack instead of begin influencing. I somehow managed not to get killed right away, having the presence of mind to realize my error and flee immediately.

However, I then went to collect 20 essence for a de-aging process. On my way past the nexus once the essence was collected, I again escaped the wrath of the guards. Once the de-aging ceremony was complete, I told a terrible joke for the benefit of those in attendance: "Now that I've shed ten years, I've finally gotten rid of those unsightly CROW'S feet!" (Felicia is from Glomdoring.)

The real punchline of (and/or punishment for) this joke occurred when I teleported to the nexus and was horribly murdered by the guards upon arrival. In addition, I'd gone AFK the moment I'd sent TELEPORT NEXUS, so I returned to everyone basically saying, "WTF?"

All in all, the lost experience was completely worth the comedy, in my opinion anyway.

So that's what happened...

Never use the same variable for your influence and hunting targets.

Yeah, I learnt that one the hard way...about three times. Thanks Luna.
