Meteor has kind of bridged the gap for me. It's not an instakill, but dropping it on someone is almost as satisfying even if they live.

It is satisfying, yes. ninja.gif

Although I am definitely NOT satisfied with the way the tektek avatars on my sig disappeared. HINT.HINT.

....at least they don't show themselves to me. losewings.gif

I can't see them either. That's odd. o_o

ACK! Mine are gone too! D:

I see yours, Ongaku. Just do what I did, save them as your own image and reupload them. That way I don't have to worry about them disappearing!

Twit: I did a really fun Guild ritual/prayer which came about as a result of me getting more serious about Lillie's position and identity as a Moondancer.
I really hope someone tells someone else and I get a favor for it!

Got a Scuchi doll! And it has a sense of humor too! Decided to not be able to be picked up after I threw it at Phoebus. So now, there's a Scuchi doll sitting around at the Matrix.

I really wish I knew how all this beastmastery stuff worked. Everytime I read the help file in game, my head spins. @_@ Lucan's close to trans beastmastery too, and I don't know how to get any of those reagents or anything. :/ I'd like to make his wyvern look less... plain.

I hit every city for feed and reagents. For diet, I made a best guess based on the results people posted in the different Beastmastery threads on the forums. You can find them with a search; this is a good one. As far as I could tell, meat leaned things towards a ferocious or imposing-looking beast, oats towards a more "normal" but healthy-looking one, and fruit (and maybe eggs?) towards something more whimsical, like butterfly wings on a horse, or feathered wings on a wyvern. I'm not sure what influence is provided by fish and vegetables, the feed for mind reagents. It seems like there's a heavy random factor, but feed allows you to sway things one way or the other.

A diet of some meat at the start, then about 40% oats, 40% fruit, and a little each of the others, yielded me "a well-bred, brown mare with soft pink wings", which seems to confirm the above theory. And if the wings were any other colour I'd be perfectly happy with it.

Hi. Time to fix minimum influence times!

EDIT: More constructively, being able to finish a village without even picking up a full round of villagers shouldn't happen unless you've maxed out village feelings to start. Scale downwards from there.

That's odd, there's a bunny suit somewhere...

Both communes were at max feelings respectively, I believe (devout and subdued). Both influenced 'optimally', ie using crusade (for Stewarts - you automatically get the bonus in peaced villages).

There's a threshold (you need to get x% of the village's influence, with x lead over the opposition) - we can either increase that threshold (it's around 175%, with crusade being worth double (or 75% if it's peaced), I believe) or simply make it so a village cannot be influenced in the first 'round'. Seems somewhat unfair though.

Showing severe ignorance here, but:

How exactly is "essence" defined as it relates to Demigods and Ascendants? I see large values (500k, 1mil, 2mil) bandied about in relation to them, but I personally come back from the Plane of Water with, say, 36 essence after killing everything there.
Unknown2010-06-01 14:23:12
Essence is our experience points, basically.

Most decent sized mobs are worth like 900-1400 essence to a demi/ascendant.

And a mob's essence worth depends on its strength. Weevils, for example, are worth 46 essence, while forestal gargantuans, a type of aetherbeast, are worth 2k(?) and 4k(?) with double experience bonus.
Harkux2010-06-01 14:29:49
Essence is pretty much a numerical for experience, rather than a percentage.

Edit::

Slow computer is slow. D:
Ileein2010-06-01 14:30:25
Yeah, demigod/ascendant "essence" is more akin to Divine essence (what they get when you offer things) than Nexus-essence (the stuff you get from killing elemental creatures). It's gained whenever they do something that would get a normal character experience points, and is proportional to the amount of XP that would have been gained. It's used for most (any?) demigod powers, in much the same way that Divine essence is used for almost any god-command.
Felicia2010-06-01 14:30:33
All right, that's more-or-less what I suspected, but I didn't realize it was almost literally a direct transition from XP -> essence.

Thanks!

I dislike how Monks gain momentum on grapple/kicks. :/
