Necro from a few pages back: I am grumpy at Shiri for not remembering that I did a Talnara family tree.

/grump

I thought the family tree was made by the game via FAMILY TREE TALNARA?

Also: I have a badass new computer, and I'm noticing that zmud is operating like lolwat 200% faster.

Yay no more getting facerolled by group combat lag?
Shishi2010-06-05 17:54:59
If I ever rolled a mage to do some PvP it would be in Gaudiguch. It'd be a new character, It'd probably be when I had some money to invest in some skills and mages just seem like fun.

My twit is not having any motivation to relearn how to fight and get into raiding. Glomdoring is already on top, so what's another high level player with trans skills going to do? It's kind of been keeping me from doing much else but influencing and taking care of shop things to finally get demigod and some other fun skills. I haven't even greeted new Shadowdancers or done anything for the guild like I used too. Oh well maybe when I get titan and demigod I'll start having fun doing some other things.

Aside from that woo Valonah she makes things fun. smile.gif

I feel like this is a fair description of what's been happening to me, too, although I'm new, not returning.

Since Glomdoring's the Basin superpower, life is good for its citizens. Unfortunately, not being trampled by enemies and hurled into adversity on a continual basis turns people soft and complacent.

Well, at least I do realize I'm in danger of being soft forever if I don't push myself. Knowing is half the battle, etc.

I already submitted one entry. tongue.gif

I want to submit more (hopefully two more), but I'm currently working on my theater production (which I need to finally graduate the Crescendo) and also transferring the last of my aliases and triggers from CMUD to MUSHclient.

Yep. Thanks for that entry. Still, you might want to get another spot! Only two entries out of three submissions are official entries, which means anyone who submits a third work will get a top spot by default!

Also, I'll be looking forward to a copy of your theater production. superninja.gif

Man, now you're complaining because we do -too good- of a job in being a superpower?! Just can't win.

My suggestion is to do what you can and join in on raids and defense anyway, I personally feel that the best time to learn combat would be when you aren't constantly being pressed to defend/die for The Cause, so you can learn in a manner most comfortable to you. Glomdoring doesn't lack for people who know what they're talking about, so I suggest asking 'hey how can I help' some time.

And anyway, whenever there's a lull in strength, a lot of people, regardless of org, tend to qq and play alts when things go even marginally rougher. Only the e-dedicated remain, and these are the times when people who practice and build up their skills are most important!

I never complained about not being a superpower. tongue.gif It was more fun when it wasn't, hehe. I know what to do in groups, but because of your bright idea I have to learn how to fight with lash now. sad.gif (good change btw) I just haven't had the will.

Shameless.

Unrelated rant: losing my internet connection in the middle of a conversation with a god. Sorry, Kalikai!

Personally, I'm not complaining. I've enjoyed the peace and quiet immensely. Shishi's comment was a dead ringer for my own tendencies, though, so I felt compelled to add my own observations. I've been putting off combat practice for a long time in favor of other things.

The Glomdoring is not at fault by any means. Kregarn is about my age, is in my guild, is nearly as "mighty" as I am, and I've seen him craftily curb-stomp a vernal ascendant with the assistance of commune guards, as well as beat experienced people in the Arena.

Still, I do feel it's legitimate to say that heroes are forged in times of trouble, not times of peace. I don't think there's going to be another Sidd anytime soon, raised to VA after playing only two RL months (or so I'm told) for heroism and extreme dedication in the face of ridonkulous odds.

tongue.gif Why, thank you.
Unknown2010-06-05 18:56:26
I guess, but that's pretty cliche, I still feel that heroes will be heroes regardless of when they come into their own. I myself got into fighting around the time SW was still doing pretty well for itself (curbstomping Glomdoring).

I do agree that it's most obvious when everyone around you is getting beatdown, day in, day out.

You know, I think now's a good time to push for/encourage the advancement of others within their chosen Circles in the guild seeing as we have new Circle heads to oversee these things. Since you're a senior member of the guild, encouragement from you to the later generation of guild members will really help in spurring them to do things!

Novice characters showing up, immediately after an incident with another character has happened, with the intent to just start trouble.

The longest part of raids on Gaudiguch is putting back rifts because SOMEONE thinks it cool to unravel them first thing in the morning. Much like said person did to pathways that Seren used.

Sounds like you're just being spoiled about luxury items that are exactly that, a luxury. It's not like the admin will ever invent some great thing that takes you to all the important places of your org...oh wait
Ileein2010-06-05 20:40:41
Actually, some rifts are important. They let novices get up to the higher planes without constantly having to ask for lifts. Older people, too. That's why Magnagora has them.

I saw that novice character's entry announcement and wondered if it might be something like that.

Guess I was right.
