Believable in this case. If there was a reason then letting us know would probably result in an "Oh... lame but at least we know" the fact that they are not saying anything points towards a bad or non-existent reason.

Right now we are 3-4 weeks past the "expectation" (sorry, you say any time frame to a customer and it's an expectation) given by Estarra, I think within that time frame after the original release date we knew when to expect the new warriors (which were released when advised) and if not them, then when to expect the new Guardians. Now that the admins are saying nothing, the people waiting for the new Guardian guilds are just turning up every week and being disappointed.



If that was the case then, just like last time when they weren't ready, a quick "yeah we haven't been able to finish them yet, sorry" would work wonders.

And while potentially the case, we were also told that the Researchers were nearly done over three months ago now...

In their defence they had a rapture update and the IRE elite stuff that had to be added. The lesson here is that Estarra should never have given us a date (or even mention those guilds were even coming, cause we players are weird).

Honestly, I'd just like a quick update. Even if it's just a 'we're roughly 80% done' kind of a deal.

I do get that they're harder to integrate than the warrior guilds, though, since they've probably got to add/change stuff on Continuum/Vortex.

This hilarious review sums it up as follows: "Jonah Hex is a bit like the Will Smith stinker Wild, Wild West, but without a shred of humor or human decency." Ouch.

While I feel your pain, I will take the liberty of pointing out that Estarra has said many times that the unpredictability of deadlines is exactly why she does not like giving them out. If all these comments (which are born from excitement, I know) serve any purpose it is to reinforce Est's opinions on this and lead to the situation where approximate release dates are just not going to be given anymore.

As for your accusations that the admin as a whole are holding the guilds back for no other purpose than to sneer from haven and point and laugh at you personally, I must admit that I find it rather insulting. Some of us are just as excited (possibly more, considering I designed the institute background from the ground up) as you are, and are not enjoying this wait any more than you are.

In conclusion, the guilds will be released when they are ready. I do not know when this will be, as I am not involved in the coding. I am sorry you all feel slighted, I am certain that was no one's intention.

I can tell you this: They're being worked on. They aren't done, yet. Estarra is working extremely hard to get them finished for you - so hard that I (and others) have had trouble getting a hold of her to handle little things like patron request approvals, to talk about area designs, quest ideas, event ideas.

Estarra said back in March (?) that the Hallifax Guardians could be finished by the end of the month, but Gaudiguch would be lacking. Remember that we have a lot of things on our plate, collectively - with several of us working on the endgame review, the new system for cults in relation to orders (which I'm quite excited about, and really think - once they're unveiled, you all will be, too), the skillflex system has fallen within the timeframe as well, there's areas that are being built, events being designed, some big patron requests that have been put in that we want Estarra's input over, there's the two guardian guilds (obviously), there was recently a Rapture update (and with it the quietly anticipated upgrade to ATCP and all that, which I believe someone is working on - definitely not me though, so you all can exhale), I know there were some things that came across that needed doing in anticipation of some things IRE is doing, there's the daily barrage of issues that often need consultation with Estarra (and I'll slip in a mention here that we're looking into adjusting the custom zap/shout business), there were dingbat items that needed coding and designing, and on top of all this, it's just getting into Summer and I have a tan to work on.

If everything went perfectly smoothly, I'm sure everything would be out and we'd all be content, on all sides. But, alas, things never do - and as Elostian pointed out, a target date is just that, a target, and unfortunately we can't always make them.

We aren't sadists, we do not enjoy seeing players upset, nor do we sit about snickering and laughing at your misfortune (Okay, I did prod you all a little, because apparently a group of people thought all the gods going visible was a sign of the impending guild releases... Because Fain and Eventru are going to teach Gaudiguch how to be illuminati...?) - I make a concerted attempt to make sure that 'joke' threads (we've had a couple) insisting the release events have start are closed and removed, for all of your sakes - no need to up the blood pressure and all.

I can tell you that there's probably no one more eager to see these guilds released than all of you than Elostian - and the only person more eager than him is Estarra. I can't help but feel a bit tweaked when people suggest there's some sort of malevolent intent behind it, because I stop and think about how these have been more than six years in the design phase, and every time the topic comes up (especially back in the fall as we got close to the release of the cities!) you could tell just how excited she was about them being released.

So I understand you're upset, I understand you want 'your' guilds, and I certainly know how you all feel. Unfortunately, 'thems the breaks' today. If we could release them today, or yesterday, or a week ago, we could have. And I'm sure as soon as they're ready, they will be released.

(Okay, I'm kidding. Elostian and I have been super-battling each other like a bad episode of Dragon Ball GT in the Havens, throwing about globs of flesh and trying to see who can force the other into a temporal anomaly in which no time exists and therefore incapable of doing anything until time itself ceases to exist. Estarra threatened to put us into a Time Lock, so we had to behave)

Just to clarify, I don't think the admin would hold them back to "sneer" but it's hard not to get that bit more frustrated when there's nothing but silence from the admin.

So as Kante said, thank you, cause at least now we know why we don't have them yet.

Wait, Estarra lets you outside long enough to tan?

I work for a gaming company, and this is a problem that our customer service team has to face during certain times. There's two choices:

1. Be silent, or
2. Tell the players there's no new information.

Either way, there is a possibility that they may get upset, and we don't ever like saying, "We don't have any new information for you. Please continue to wait patiently." This sometimes gets players even more upset than just not saying anything, so it's a delicate decision to make.

I have seen players become very happy at being given the "We have no new information" line, and I can never understand why. Apparently it's just comforting to hear from someone? But it's never had an effect on me, because I know in my heart that the admin wouldn't ignore their playerbase, or enjoy watching them "suffer" through the wait. If they did that... well, they might not have a playerbase anymore.
