I'm really starting to feel not smart enough for Hallifax! How does anyone find their way around that place?

(More helpfully, it's quite simple once you understand the layout. You have to think with portals in 3d-- it's like two pyramids, one upside down on the bottom and one right-side-up on the top. There are a few good chelp files on it in Hallifax.)

I'm so bad with directions that I frequently mix up left and right, and eventually I worked it out If I can figure out Hallifax, anyone can! It really does start to make sense once you realize the basic layout, I promise. In fact I think it's one of the easiest places to navigate now. But...definitely scary for anyone who doesn't quite get it yet! I remember how convinced I was that they were just going to find my skeleton in one of the lower wards one day, years after I'd gotten lost and starved to death...

I make ample use of the map. And I got used to the layout, but I don't visit the city much really.

I ultimately learned it from doing the epic quest and scouring every corner of the city for the last Justice or Comptroller.

The upper three wards are burned permanently into my mind from that.

I've had the same happen to me, during raids, it's just me, who has no healing system and sucks at combat against several demis or near demis with artifacts and a lot of combat experience. I never had a chance. But I know that I'm gonna get up to their level and I'm gonna get my chance to take down them in battle someday.

This is what I go through every time I try to defend. Except without the hope for the future of Ongaku. I just kind of sit there going, "T_T NEVER GONNA GET DEMI AT THIS RATE! *runs off to hide in manse and escape defense*"

I've also taken to telling myself that just because I'm a guild leader doesn't mean I have to defend. >.> I'm like the head secretary! I do paperwork and stuff! No one should expect me to fight.
