You have a large enough population in Glomdoring now to have plenty of big fighter types and still leave room for the culture/RP types. The rest of us don't have that luxury at the moment.

Yes, I know it used to be the shoe on the other foot and all that (well, Shuyin, Viynain, and even Krellan were in Serenwilde previously), but I've never advocated stomping someone who's really down and undeserving. (And, when I say 'undeserving,' I'm not saying Serenwilde didn't have some retribution coming. I'm talking about griefing a griefer individually, if that's even possible.)

Some of the "griefers" I've known in recent times turned out to be using my code, and that really pisses me off.

Why does this makes you angry? I don't understand.

My guess would be he built a system so that people could get over that high bar of entry into combat and so that everyone could enjoy the game. If people were using my system to act like total a$$holes, yeah, I'd be mad at them too.

Bingo.

Bingo.

If it were me, I'd be mad at them just for being assholes and the system would be irrelevant.

It's relevant because the system helps them rise to the occasion so much faster. Those who have to build their own take a lot longer to get that strong and confident.

I'm really, truly thankful some people understand the IC/OOC border.

Thank you. <3

Not sarcasm, either.

I wish more people would disregard the sandwich/stomach barrier.

That's because you have real RPers in Glom.

(Quote Necro because this bothered me)

There are real RPers in Serenwilde, too. Not as many perhaps, but we're about.

It's not a lack of people, it's a lack of opportunity, determination, and most of all, momentum. Where are you supposed to fit roleplay in between this raid, and that "OMG we need to gather conflict-widgets", and the other grind of preparedness? And that's just the "standing around talking" kind; gods forbid you talk about a ritual, a festival, a play, or a gathering, that takes more than an hour to prepare, and a dash of creativity and inspiration. Momentum is everything here and everyone underestimates it; they mistake exceptions for rules.

I don't think there's a single place in Lusternia that doesn't have people ready to roleplay if they had the time, the energy, the opportunity, and most of all, the conviction that if they invested that time and energy something would come of it. And I don't think there's anywhere in Lusternia that people aren't once-bitten-twice-shy about investing those things knowing how likely it is that it'll turn out to be for naught. Even if conflict stopped entirely tomorrow, it would take a long time before that momentum could truly be recovered.

I think sweeping generalizations are being made. There have been any number of times in the last few weeks where there is hours of down time. Hell even today with the "omg Hart is gonna die" it has been hours of downtime. 5 hours of downtime at this very moment since I logged on.

Lusternia is what you make of it, if you choose to see the 'Forever War' as abolishing everything you enjoy, well that's what you make of it.

Now I do agree that conflict has become the prevalent beast in Lusternia, but there is RP and time for RP all over the place.

Need to learn Waterbourne from an aquamancer. Why can't we have nice, calm seas in the basin?

Blame Morgfyre. He's a restless sleeper.
