Nevermind how awful the quest was before, but now it seems to be outright broken. You can only find two baby adder corpses at a time, and I've yet to find any mob that is snatching them and carrying them around, so I can only assume that the expansion there borked something.

In addition to this, the changes to the nexus brought on by smob conversions also means you can't put the babies in the Pool to get eggs unless you are a Celestian, adding yet another pointless hurdle to an excruciating exercise in tedium.

Oi, I hadn't thought of that. Just what that quest needs. Did you try using the Pool on the Water plane too? Probably also affected by that rule, but it's worth a try.
