Nah, it's fine Allison. But it's okay to keep it short too, or you'll get the tl;dnr response.

What color is associated with the Taint/forestals? The Green Scare? The Brown Scare? The Purple Scare?

I vote for green.
Kiradawea2009-06-19 22:59:18
Course you can. You won't be damned for doing it. At most, it'll be for how you do it, but contrary to popular belief, Ilyarin isn't corrupt. If you feel you were treated unfairly, take it up with him. I had no idea that I'd be testifying in this trial, or I would've been far better prepared.
Unknown2009-06-19 23:03:03
Like I can bring up the fact that you attacked me in Celestia because I was influencing "your" guards. Because you own them. How about you get up on that stand too?
Everyone has dirt on each other, that's what the internet is all about. Better prepared or not, that's the kind of stuff people need time to prove the witness's bias and animus in making an untruthful character disposition.

Pretty sure it's just hysteria not morale that gets raised. Or they just call it the Red Scare because everyone was happy.
They were scared of communists. Not scared that they might be labeled a communist!
Yay! We defeated one of "Them"!
Unknown2009-06-19 23:10:22
and yea, fine. You can have your Green Scare, daganev. I'll be cheering for you guys in an aetherbubble, far, far away.

I actually like Bandrui...also, does she kill/punish people using that lotus blossom in her hut?
That actually came a while later, Lady Maylea planted it.

Just give the Damned-to-be a public notice saying how long they had before a trial was to proceed, given in the form of an IG date. They've got time to collect witnesses, as does the prosecution, then the witch-hunt/inquisition occurs, they're Damned, end of story. it looks fair, seems fair, and is and/or isn't fair, depending on where you are in the trial!

You act like you expect the Light to be fair and just.
The Light isn't fair, it does "just" what it wants.
Razenth2009-06-21 00:57:24
We like to pretend we're fair. And sometimes, we even believe our own delusions.
Catarin2009-06-21 01:16:32
This isn't Judge Judy. This is a fantasy situation where a fantasy city passes judgement on a fantasy character giving them a fantasy punishment. Having a direct representative of Japhiel being the one to pass the final judgement is about as fair as you can possibly get when it comes to Celest RP. Surely he would never damn someone who shouldn't be! So really witnesses are just a formality. It would be better if there were people armed with tomatoes and perhaps a bit more burning at the stake involved but other than that, nifty RP tool.
Casilu2009-06-21 01:42:30
Burning should be reserved for Moondancers and Shadowdancers.

Celest is welcome to hire someone to burn people at the stake and provide rotten tomatoes to throw at them (possibly soaked in a highly flammable fluid, so they explode on fiery impact!) - however, for any punishment worthy of death, I'd think Celest would probably cast them out of the city. Judgment like this is probably a lot more 'in-line' with the RP of the Light.
And yes, there's no need for witnesses other than a plaintiff. Ladyn knows all.

I am now hiring out my services as a Lawyer. Past experiences include twisting laws to defy star council members, weasling my way out of punishments, and slandering the City and Guild Patrons for years with only one punishment. (Best of all, I still have a no-zap record! It was just a flick!)

Ooh, I need a cooking cartel.

I would think, that for the sake of a good RP experience, you would give the person being accused plenty of time to make sure thier schedule is free to be around at the time of the trial.
I think you are lucky that Jozan didn't just log out when he knew he had to go in 15 minutes.
