It's a stretch, I'm just looking for scenarios in which he was telling the truth (or most of the truth). I realise this will make me look ridiculously scummy if Solanis turns out to be scum but the dearth of kills last night makes me want to believe him if we can explain the rest away.
The one thing I really don't like about this situation is that we should have two scum groups, and even if Solanis is scum, the other scum group should have killed him. I find two doctors unlikely with a 25% nightkill resist, which is way more reliable than any doctor.
Most doctors can't protect themselves, so...yeah. His ability says it empowers his target, so it's not like he gained the ability to save himself. It's possible that Solanis is scum, rolled himself safe, and his group's killer got roleblocked.

Also I just realised Silferras couldn't have targetted someone else because she didn't have any names (right?) unless Dr. Weird has daykill resistance, which I doubt, so scratch that possibility. Hmmm. Actually maybe there is something to this.

I had forgotten that Myrkr gave her role name out. Why wouldn't Silferras have daykilled her? Even if Silferras didn't want to use her powers on Solanis (either because she read it as I first did, as win either with town or thought having a doctor around to protect her later could be useful), why wouldn't she have used it against Myrkr who by Myrkr's own words has lots of random powers, which we already know can be deadly?

Option five, solanis kills anyone who targets him.

I seem to remember him saying he could protect himself later in the day, maybe he can confirm that when he gets here.
@Zynna: the thing is, if I were playing Silferras' role, I would want to leave people I thought the scum would kill alive for the night. Silferras was vulnerable and she didn't want the scum casting around at random because they might get her, so if she could get some random to decrease numbers and make the scum go for the doctor it's win-win for her.
The flaw with that idea of course is that Myrkr didn't die, and I don't think anyone else claimed their name, but it's a valid strategy note to keep in mind for the future.

In which case you would see either more scum deaths or more deaths of other people the scum targetted. Also that doesn't make sense as Kakashi, which I'm inclined to believe because the bad spelling thing really makes me think it was done on purpose by Casilu to make people resilient to Silferras - which there's no way Solanis could have known about.

Myrkr is pretty well-known for being bad at mafia. Silferras might have been hoping Myrkr would kill some other random people with her powers.

I am amazed and will have to go back and re-read things again. Town lucked out good with just the SK getting night killed. Though I am unsure why the SK didn't target Dr. Weird with that ability ... unless she guessed that Myrkr's abilities are a wild card that could result in death. Shiri narrowly escaped with the 'Behold my fiance'. Silf might have thought that Myrkr would take out a few townies on her own with her bizarre list of sentences she can target players with.
Aside from that, I do think Cas watches too much cartoon network.
And also, I am curious as to why there is the hostilities going on so much. People seem to be getting short with each other.
Going back to re-read now.

I believe he was expecting there to be more nightkills (thus more clues on the scum).
The fact only one person died does worry me a bit as well, saying that I do think there is at least one other person (aside from Silf and the scum) who have a nightkill.

Oh. I did somehow assume it was 1-shot...fail. I heard something about "additional to night kill" so it threw me off.
There is another possibility though: Silferras wanted to get someone else and kill Solanis in the night (in case she hadn't read). There may be someone else out there who is unfortunately (for Silferras) immune to daykills.
Last possibility: Solanis actually has daykill resistance too because he man...whatever his copy eye thing is. He did that to me when I resisted Myrkr's daykill.
Either way, Solanis wasn't in the same scum group as Silferras for obvious reasons, so.

I don't remember this .... I wondered how Shiri managed to dodge the spider. How/when did he 'do that to me' when I resisted Myrkr's daykill?

I am grateful that only one person died and that person was a non-townie and that there wasn't a massacre of townies dead.

There is nothing wrong with Bali's comment (that specific one.)
My power protected me from Myrkr's random daykill, Casilu even posted it in the thread.

Well, I do disagree with the comment. There is something about it that just bothers me. Right or wrong, it does. And yes, I remember that your inner power protected you from the day kill. What I don't remember is him copying your ability to prevent a daykill. I don't remember him posting anything similiar to that.
Shiri2009-06-30 05:24:16
He didn't post anything like that. I'm suggesting it as a possibility because it makes sense and would help explain the situation.

Don't rolefish. Take it as true and move on.

Since I don't think Solanis is scum, Vote: Allergic to Sabres to get this moving.

What makes sense in my head:
Solanis lied about his role claim.
Silferres attempted to daykill him because Solanis claimed doctor.
Kill failed because, again, Solanis hadn't actually claimed role.
Solanis, as a supposed doctor, was not killed by scum last night, which leads me to believe he is scum.
BUT, Solanis actually did claim he could protect himself, so he would necessarily die - it looks like the quote didn't copy over, so I'll have to re-find it later. So, another option is he role claimed, figured he was going to get targeted, protected himself, and scum kill failed.
Interesting thing about copy ninjas that Shiri brought up, Solanis actually considered lying that he did have those powers.
There are way, WAY too many Shiri => Solanis connections for my taste. Shiri, at least, seems to know a lot. But I already suspected Solanis before, and this whole event didn't help.
FOS: Solanis
And now I'll go look for that quote where he says he can protect himself.

Yeah, Kakashi wasn't really a doctor. I was tempted to lie and claim that I was the copy ninja - I can copy other people's night powers. It sounds more plausible, yet I decided to go with the truth.

Also, the idea that Solanis false-claimed the Doctor role, and the chip didn't work because of that is bunk, as he only needed to mention the role's name.
If someone mentions their role name, you may message me...
Ergo, either he lied about his name, and Silferras tried to eat Kakashi's chip; or Silferras did not try to eat Kakashi's chip.
If the former, I'm trying to think of a reason why she wouldn't tell us "Hey, guys, Solanis being Kakashi? Is :censor:!"
If the latter, I'm trying to figure out why she'd pass the opportunity up.
By the way, Bad Silferras! Leave the celebrities alone with your death note! We've lost four in the last month T_T
