Well i know I was roleblocked last night.
I assume it was just a random choice because I haven't claimed. How many roleblockers would we have? Also, roleblocking somone who claimed to be a doctor would be a strange choice indeed so I'm not sure how much I can buy into that but people have done stupider things i suppose.

With a 25% blanket immunity and a/the SK taken out on night one losing a doctor isn't as bad as it would normally be but i'm conflicted on who to vote for at the moment.

... should I try using an ability? It might kill Solanis, if we're lucky. Or it might kill me. But should I try using an ability so that we can find someone else to lynch, if it does have a killing effect?

Well you say "claimed to be a doctor" but there's a tonne of people who don't believe him, and didn't yesterday. Anyway, I don't think we have a lot of strong cases to make until Solanis is dead so I'm going to have to recommend Siam for now.

Also, thoughts on how useful it would be to have Llandros reveal the flavour of that roleblock (if any) now?

Maybe wait until he's almost lynched, in case someone suddenly comes up with an awesome reason we shouldn't go for him beyond what I've already put up, or...similar. I doubt they're ALL kills, you probably have a bunch of useless crap anyway.

Can you (or someone) explain what a roleblock actually means? I don't remember reading about that in my newbie orientation. Then I could give an opinion.


I agree with this. We're up to what... 9ish on him? I would wait until we were closer. Give people more time.

One thing I will say is kind of bothering me is that not a lot of people are defending Solanis. If he were scum, then all the other scum would know he is, and with this much talk of lynch, I would honestly assume they would try to subtly deflect more attention off of him. Or I suppose they could already think the cause too far gone, and are sacrificing him so that the others remain hidden. Either sound viable to me. Just food for thought.

A roleblock, which is for some reason much more common around here than in other mafia forms, is when someone (USUALLY townie) targets someone else during a night and their nightskills do not work.

Also, we had an even more rare variant in which someone is both roleblocked and protected (utility on both scum and town, but also counterproductive on some roles) which would explain the fact that Solanis A) didn't boost me, and isn't dead. But that's a dangerous assumption.

Roleblocking just means that somone has the ability to block you from using your role or power. It's kinda like a reverse doctor role in that instead of protecting somone they stop somone from doing anything, idealy from nightkilling somone.

I think I see where Shaddus is coming from, even though it wasn't necessarily a wise question to ask. He thinks if you had a night power that was blocked, it could have been something else like the target being immune, not a roleblocker (who would then be free to hassle Solanis even if we only had 1.)

I don't think it'd be really all that wise to have Llandros give indications on what power he was role blocked on yet. I have nothing to indicate that he is not a townie (and hell, he offered up the information without pressure.) If his power is useful to the town, and he's forced to claim, mafia would potentially kill him and we lose the power. If he becomes suspect, then it could be brought up.

I'm going to say that we lycnh solanis, and if he comes up town, (doctor or not) we lynch Xavius or Shamarah tommorow.

Clearly, too many people are going to be pushing for the solanis lynch train, regardless of what happens each night, unless he dies. If he turns up town, we can go after the people who have been pushing for his death.

What I'm saying is, (regardless of Solanis being doctor or scum) maybe Llandros tried to kill him last night, and somehow was stopped. Llandros could be using this to find out who either stopped him, or could be using it to get Solanis lynched because he couldn't kill him.

I haven't voted for Solanis today and I don't care who used their roleblock on me. I was just stating information that I knew to be true in the context of a conversation in which it may be relevant.

I don't think you're helping yourself. Obviously you performed some sort of night action, and you were roleblocked. We noticed that Solanis didn't die, though he probably would have if someone were able to kill him. Since you were roleblocked, you weren't able to kill him.

A stretch? Possibly, but it's worth looking into.
