You blink and the world stands still. A horrific vision confronts your senses,
crimson skies roiling with tentacles and a landscape burned to a husk. In
swirling formations, tiny pinpricks of light lead attack upon attack against the
Soulless while, cowering before you, beneath a stone, a four-legged god gibbers
in cowardly terror.
You blink and the world stands still. Bathed in dappled green light, your wife,
Sarrasri, waits within the canopy of the trees. Before long, the lopsided visage
of Gregori appears, climbing through the branches. They lean together, kissing,
before the vision fades.
Chuckling slightly under his breath, you say, "That doesn't surprise me."
You blink and the world stands still. A blazing crimson comet at the head of His
phalanx of Gods, Fain leads charge upon charge against a skyscape of chitin,
claws and eyes. Your vision blurs and a new scene awaits you. A battered god is
carried on to a huge stone by a goddess dressed in white. To one side, the
glowing figure of Lisaera waits, weeping as Charune approaches and envelops her
in his arms.
You rub a dragon's claw brooch clasping a midnight rose and it begins to glow
with a pulsating light.
You open up a window in the cosmic fabric and search out Melville. Through the
cosmic window, you see Melville at Sombre Lane.
Melville tells you, "You scried, father?"
You tell Melville d'Murani, "I keep having these vision of Lord Fain. His power,
his dominance over the lesser forms of my Gods. They are weeping while he stand
triumphantly above them all. I want His power."
Melville tells you, "You will find answers in His fulcrux."
-walking to Fain's Fulcrux-
You reach out and touch a swirling crimson mist.
The crimson mists swirl about you like tiny fingers grasping outwards, trying to
pull you in.
A cold, compassionless voice booms throughout the chamber, "Greetings, Vathael."
You grovel in the dirt.
You say, "Greetings, my Lord."
A cold, compassionless voice booms throughout the chamber, "Has the prodigal
follower seen the error of his ways?"
A cold, compassionless voice booms throughout the chamber, "How do you like
Serenwilde, your cheating wife and your cowardly god?"
You say, "They are all weak minded fools. I sought power and was left still
wanting."
A cold, compassionless voice booms throughout the chamber, "Why did leave the
glorious shadow of My aegis, Vathael."
You say, "I wanted Magnagora to see what they would miss without myself in their
hands. After I left, Magnagora started to slowly fall apart and soon Thoros
began to sleep and Magnagora crumbled."
A cold, compassionless voice booms throughout the chamber, "Indeed."
A cold, compassionless voice booms throughout the chamber, "Magnagora has ailed,
but the body politick recovers. Soon it will establish its dominance once more."
Melville emerges from the crimson depths of the mist, his eyes glazed and
unfeeling.
A cold, compassionless voice booms throughout the chamber, "Greetings,
Melville."
Melville d'Murani says, "Hail, Lord."
A cold, compassionless voice booms throughout the chamber, "Your father slowly
perceives the error of his ways."
Melville d'Murani says to you, "Hail, father."
You say, "Greetings, son."
A cold, compassionless voice booms throughout the chamber, "Had he remained with
Me, he would be an avatar now. As of course would you."
Melville d'Murani says, "My error was made clearer to me the longer I stayed in
the forest."
Melville d'Murani says, "It is no place for a true Magnagoran."
A cold, compassionless voice booms throughout the chamber, "Very well. Charune
is an indolent, greasy animal. He does nothing and achieves nothing. He is
nothing."
A cold, compassionless voice booms throughout the chamber, "He will be a
footnote in the pages of history, and a footnote only by his propinquity to Me,
because he had the gall and foolishness to steal My Mate and betray Me."
Melville d'Murani nods slightly.
A cold, compassionless voice booms throughout the chamber, "Be you sure,
mortals. The Twelve Traitors are gathering, and when they are assembled there
will be war against the Elders and those who do not take My part will perish and
be ground to dust."
A cold, compassionless voice booms throughout the chamber, "Therefore, Vathael,
renounce your past."
A cold, compassionless voice booms throughout the chamber, "Slough off your
allegiance to the beast god and his avatar."
You say, "Yes, my Lord."
A cold, compassionless voice booms throughout the chamber, "Divorce the wife
whose adultery has placed Charunite horns upon your forehead."
You say, "It is done, my Lord."
A cold, compassionless voice booms throughout the chamber, "Then I am pleased.
You have done well."
A cold, compassionless voice booms throughout the chamber, "My Will runs in your
veins and My essence in your very blood."
A cold, compassionless voice booms throughout the chamber, "Ally yourself with
My instruments and engines that you may better serve Me."
A cold, compassionless voice booms throughout the chamber, "Melville, you must
smooth your father's way."
Melville d'Murani says, "It shall be done. And quickly, Lord."
A cold, compassionless voice booms throughout the chamber, "Then I shall be
pleased."

Good on you for roleplaying it (at least from their perspective, nothing with us as yet, not even a post or a tell).
Still disappointed that all former Mags are so predictable in that they all eventually return "home."
And, I'm voting for someone else besides myself to be the new Warden.
