sad.gif I'm trying to track down the lurkers...

While I can understand that, its so hard for me to follow right now. Things are going off in so many different directions, its hard for my mind to focus on the bazillion different things bouncing around.

TIMDN/Solanis seemed the most lurkiest to me, from Daganev's summaries a few pages back, but Solanis seems to be around, so whatever. Rika's a bit lurky and aggro, but considering the aggro in general, I don't think she's all that suspicious-worthy. TIMDN has been posting a fair bit in other threads (just not much here), too. I don't think Othero's up to anything, really, since the whole SK thing is a valid fear/thought/opinion/emotion/feeling/idea to have. So on and so forth. Should also look at the people who have a high number of posts, but haven't actually posted much worth reading. That is, there have been some single-statement posts... some posts with just a Vote. I mean, it's easy enough to post 3 thoughts as 3 different posts, doesn't mean much other than pad your count. For example, Dugan's mostly been complaining about how it's day 1, with only 2 posts I can see worth writing (this and this). Not saying he's the only one, mind, just one that sticks out to me.

I'm thinking, though, that in the Clark Kent/Evil reporter argument, it should be noted that, unless I'm far, FAR off on Casilu's role, the role itself is an antagonist in the source, but she certainly does not seem to be in this game.

You are VERY far off, that was just me having fun. Not my fault you took it seriously.

Ok, noted, I'm just going to track down two more potential lurkers and then I'll go get some calories.

I don't know SK's normal strategies, do they want to kill townies or scum first?

Scum help achieve SK win condition but have a chance to kill the SK...

In my mind a SK would want to take out mafia first so that they have less chances of being killed at night. It is a bit easier for a SK to hide in with the town and be one of them. Then they would want to take out town, though they would keep out a eye for town with night kills or investigative powers as being outed or killed at night would be the very end of their game. It is extremly tough to win as one but while they are around they can do a good deal of damage. We need to remember it is a extra night kill outside of the assumed mafia night kill.
Daganev2009-07-29 00:31:49
I just realized that we haven't seen Arix at all today. And he was up there with the suspects last time we talked about him.

So here are his nine posts for your review. Sorry they aren't as nicely linked as the others.

You people always start without me, goddammit. now I have to read through 6 pages of crap, so just hush for a bit so I can catch up

People I am suspicious of:

Daganev, Dugan and Llandros. Daganev is like my Shaddus, I always get scum vibes from him, even when I've been teamed up with him, so I won't vote fir him unless he does something that seems legitimately scummy. Dugan, mostly because of his vote for Shaddus before Shaddus had even posted, although I get the same from Daganev as stated above, so just a FoS for now. Right now though, Llandros is who I will vote for, because that 'I'm totally a townie, guys' claim just sends off all kinds of alarms, as does the fishing.

VOTE: Llandros

Now, my posting will be a bit sporadic, I have had trouble with the forums recently, and also the weekend is coming and I will be out of the house both days.

Cuz that's TOTALLY what will happen

Boy, can't even post a tongue in cheek joke on day one, page one without people going around and FOS. At least one person got it ....

If you actually read my post, you'd notice I got the joke. If I thought you were scum, I'd vote, not toss a half-assed FoS at you

Ok, so apparently the roles are not based on a single source, but more like heroes from different genres (although I don't know about Mother Nature, she's more of a general protector figure than an active hero)

Mine is from a video game that I never played and had to look up, but I suspect that there are other video game heroes out there, unless Kira is really creative

Sorry guys, was out and about all day. Had to run errands, promised I'd go with my aunt and cousins to go see the new Harry Potter movie, then we went out to eat. I just got back and am going to relax a bit before I catch up with the latest mafia goings on

Also, I saw one of the posts just now, didn't Ilyarin do a no night action thing?

I'm going to be honest here, I have absolutely no idea what's going on. You guys jumped way ahead of me. For now, I am going to UNVOTE, and then I am going to go to bed and try reading the recent stuff when I'm actually awake

Re: Dag seeing me around. I periodically refresh this while I'm in game and often times something comes up before I get a chance to reply. Maybe I should stop this practice. Heh. Anyhow, I'm still for letting Furien live for at least a little bit. Cult or now, his powers could be useful for a day or two.

HOWEVER, what I don't like is how he keeps adding things piecemeal. It gives the impression of making up things on the fly, then making more stuff up later to cover holes, rinse and repeat. So... nervous feelings.

I can't really comment on rika's playstyle, but I do know she does odd hours, so it's not surprising for her stuff to be "delayed".

More to follow, stuff is happening outside of these forums!
Daganev2009-07-29 00:39:33
And the last one for the day, here is Diamondais

I couldn't quite remember if she said anything of interest so I decided to look up to see what she had said or not said.

After these people, someone else is going to have to find any lurkers with high post counts:

It's a joke about how in every game he is accused of being scummy, I think anyways.

Posted on: Jul 24 2009, 10:02 AM
Well, that might be interesting.

Don't spit in the wind is similar to don't piss in the wind, just funny sayings of caution.

Hey, I fell sleep mid-day so sometimes there's just external factors people aren't talking.

No point in random votes anymore, not when there has been discussion and finger pointing.

Glad you did that wisdom seeking thing Casilu, and I really hope it's accurate, it gives us something small to work off of.

If people want other people to post then I think it'd be best to actually post something worth discussing other than blind accusations, gut-feelings or whatever.
Except, it's Day One. We started at Day, nobody will have had time to gather information against others. All there will be on a day one is accusations, gut-feelings and what-not.

And I`m not sure about Daganev, he`s also rubbed me the wrong way in games and still come up town

Also, if it encourages/reminds people to post, it can only be a good thing! It lets us get to know each other better.
Alongside this, it allows us to form opinions about people to which can help us predict and discover who is scum or harmful to the town.

Ack, sorry about not talking much. It kinda got weird and I was busy with work, OSAP stuff, cleaning, company and various other things. Could someone summarize what has been going on the past couple pages?

I think it might be safer to let Furien live for the moment.

QUOTE (Furien @ Jul 28 2009, 06:08 PM)
That's essentially what I've been saying the entire time without trying to put the 'cult' label on it.

1. Each night I can induct someone into my order, the Order of the White Rose (this underground group that fought the Nazis in Germany).
2. I can send them all pamphlets with a message from me at night.
3. If I choose not to induct someone, I can send an 'anonymous message' (gg) to the game at the next morning.
4. When the game is done I just go back to Germany, having won with the town and not being able to take anyone here with me.
5. If I induct a scum, they kill me.

That's pretty much how it works.
This cult business seems sketchy, but I'm fairly certain we've dealt with something similar. Need to think on where we did too..

Order of the White Rose doesn't seem to be an underground group against the Nazi's, it seems to be a system of awards in Finland. Maybe I've missed something.

I'm not sure if I posted this allready, but I just found this open in one of my windows/tabs:

Aerotan, we were specifically told that 5 are antagonists, and 14 are protagonists. If 1 of the protagonists are really antagonists, then we have a problem.

I told Aerotan that his guess about me was way, WAY off. I dropped a few hints as to my role name, the coffee thing was just me having some fun.

To be honest, what I think what happened is as follows:

1. Furien realizes he has been caught, and decides to come up with something to save his hide.
2. Furien tries to bluff his way out of a lynch early, since he has a "plan"
3. Furien realizes that even as a cult, he can appear to be usefull to the town and become a "confirmed townie"
4. Furien realizes his plan won't work, and just comes out and says his real role.
5. We realize that furien has some uses even though he is a cult and let him live for 3 days.

Your thoughts in progress posts are too long.
Unknown2009-07-29 00:59:44
Also, as a townie playing to win, sometimes facts need to be checked with the mod. I don't think there's anything wrong with Furien getting the facts straight.

I'm almost home. I desperately need to order food. After dinner I'll sit down and go back over the posts starting from Dag's posting of the lurkers' posts (and thanks for doing that!)

I don't think there is anything wrong with getting facts straight either.

However the point is that he kept changing his claim.

First he said that lynching him was "going to be the worst mistake of your life to say the least."
Then he said he was a weird cop.
Then he said he was a pro-town cult.

As it turns out, lynching him would NOT be the worst mistake of our lives. Infact on day 4 it's going to be a damned good idea!
Arix2009-07-29 01:18:24
Arix has just gotten on the computer and now has even more crap to read. Also, you people need to learn how to use quote tags

You could just accept I'm a pro-town cult/mason farm and save yourself a headache but everyone seems to be lacking wisdom in general on that part.

Didn't the sonic mafia game have multiple factions that changed with time?
