Is it Just me, or is Zynna defending Solanis awfully hard?

Vote: Solanis

I think Zynna's been accused of defending a lot of people pretty hard over the day so far. Perhaps she just defends as she sees fit.
Unknown2009-07-29 21:43:59
Can't speak for anyone else, but I'm not voting at the moment due to waiting for a defense. I mean, I could vote for Solanis just to pressure him further, but 6 votes should do that anyways, I'd think. No one really jumps out at me at the moment, and considering how shaky most of the reasoning so far has been by all, I figure everyone's playing more a guessing game than anything else. Anywho, one of the things I'd like is an explanation for why Othero and Llandros have votes on them. I'm guessing Llandros is just because Arix hasn't felt the need to move his vote?
Unknown2009-07-29 21:46:30
Solanis voted me because my reasons for Furien's skill being a way for scum to get info seemed like bad logic to him.
Dugan2009-07-29 21:47:16
I know I wouldn't. Six is a good number of votes, but its only 1/2 way from a lynch. Highly unlikely that the votes would jump up to 11 or 12 very quick, so he still has time. Not much pressure when you are still so far away from the lynch.
Unknown2009-07-29 21:52:22
Well, if more pressure needed for possible new information, then vote: Solanis.
Dugan2009-07-29 21:54:08
Its also not like we can't do an unvote or two if it gets close to a train-wreck before he gets a chance to defend.

Because I did an independent analysis which differed from someone else's independent analysis?
Aerotan2009-07-30 00:58:13
Calm down, I was just saying. Leave no stone unturned and whatnot. confused.gif
Daganev2009-07-30 02:02:18
hmm, I'm not sure if that counts as being required to "calm down", maybe I'm reading it differently.
But if someone does need to "calm down" then perhaps the person should be watched for being overly defensive.
Rika2009-07-30 06:24:23
I don't really see how there is a "different" sort of lurking. But meh, it seems the bandwagon is going with Solanis, so we might as well hear what he has to say.
Daganev2009-07-30 06:32:17
You don't see the difference between informed, brief and sporatic posts, with the "barely paying attention", lack of content, and mostly just saying" I have nothing to say" posts of the other lurkers?

Meaning, if Solanis had posted twice as many of the same type of posts that he has so far, he would be considered a helpfull towny, and not a lurking SK.

If any of the other lukers had posted twice as many posts as they did, with the same sort of content, they would be seens as post padding, being evasive, or just unhelpfull.
Daganev2009-07-30 06:33:24
ack, hit return too fast.

Anyway, the point is that since solanis is being helpfull in his posts, one would assume there would be more posts, since he is paying such close attention.

But since they are sporatic, it becomes clear lurking.
Rika2009-07-30 06:36:34
Or that, like me, by the time Solanis can get to a computer everything that had to be said had already been said 12 hours ago and there is no one awake to discuss his points with him.
Unknown2009-07-30 06:45:51
Wouldn't posting to steer us away from SK be pretty stupid/pointless since we had Casilu's mystic thing? Not to mention I don't see the point of it anyway.

Regarding my noob question: I wasn't playing dumb. Didn't realise it was a noob question.

You are right, though, when I addressed Othero's post I was only thinking in terms of mafia.

Zynna, the key you are missing here is all of Solanis's posts before this point.

They have been informed and insightfull. He even wrote "An attempt to stop lurking".
Meaning, he has posted little, posting just enough to look helpful, but not posting enough to bring any attention to himself.
This is classic noob SK strategy.

Of the 5 or so lurkers, Solanis's lurking is different from everybody elses lurking.

With Othero's new point about SK avoidance, things just seemed to snap into place for me.

Ahem, by attempting to stop lurking, I brought attention to myself.

"Meaning, he has posted little, posting just enough to look helpful, but not posting enough to bring any attention to himself." I think this is wrong.

Yay. Actually I came home two hours ago but got distracted by the IG conflict and didn't check mafia until now.

If I was not out hunting to speciically find people to look for, you would have escaped our attention completely.

It was only because I had two hours to spare, that I could collect everyone's posts and analyze them that I even noticed you were posting little.

So, I'm not sure that the fact that you got called on lurking is evidence that you weren't trying to lurk.

I proabbly shouldn't be posting so late at night, cause now I'm double posting but whatever.

The question is, WHY were you only thinking in terms of mafia? Like you just said, Casilu did the wisdom seeking thing so you should have been thinking about all sorts of possible scum. Especially since there is a moderate probability that Furien is non mafia scum (i.e. a cult)

The two of you can't discuss things with eachother? *peer*

It's never the case that everything that could be said has been said allready. So I just don't buy that argument.
Arix2009-07-30 07:10:08
Hey guys, I'm up and on the computer for now. I don't really have anything to say just now, although if people start talking I'll join the conversation. Mostly when I show up, it's dead quiet and there's like three people from the game who are even around
Daganev2009-07-30 07:11:24
well, I see 4 now, and theres been like 12 pages since you last posted. So you should have plenty to say.
