But there's absolutely no proof of that, and I don't see how my deal is harmful in the slightest.

Weekends be damned. It looks like everyone is poking at Furien, but since these two came quickly after day started again, I'll give my thoughts -
1. By us having no way to confirm, I meant that no one with power roles (Investigator, ect) had either yet had the opportunity or the inclination to clear Solanis' name with evidence.
2. The whole little part about me just knowing should have probably stayed an inner monologue. The "just know" was a figure of speech at the time. As in, Solanis was town in the other game, but gave off extremely scummy vibes, resulting in his lynching. It was more like "You know, I *think* Solanis is scum, but we've no way of proving it today, and Fate is probably going to kick us in the jewels on this one."
However, reasons I voted to 10 (Which is an odd thing to point out, in my opinion, it's not like he was one away or something. I truly thought having a two vote buffer was good, but obviously didn't know Arix was going to fly off the handle.)
1. I thought Solanis was being scummy.
2. Solanis was at nine, and still hadn't claimed any info, if I remember correctly. (Though we'd been bantering back and forth so long, I could be wrong on that and forgotten something. That's what I was thinking at the time of voting, though.)
3. Because of 1 and 2, we'd been stalled there for some time with no real direction to go. I thought perhaps ONE more vote would nudge him and remind him of the situation. Again, if bringing someone to two for the purposes of claiming/talking is too close, that's noted for the future in my book.
This is silly. I have no idea where you get "eager to remove a confirmable townie" from. I was the tenth person to cast my vote. Day one had gone on forever. Solanis had plenty of opportunity to make his case. The only one who apparently was "eager" was Arix, it seems, and he rendered himself a non-issue at this point.

Which implies he didn't want to lynch Solanis. Yet he double voted. And the argument doesn't even stand, because lynch was at 12 and Kira's count was at 13.
Anyway, I'm going to vote: AllergictoSabres.
This put Solanis onto the ten votes and I don't understand why we had "no way of confirmation" of anything when Solanis hadn't even voted. And if you "just know" that someone is going to "turn up town", don't vote?

We still can't really tell with Furien. I think we still can't really "place" him yet. Until someone is successfully pro-town culted, I don't know how we can know one way or the other.
Xavius2009-08-02 07:37:31
Well, Casi says he can confirm no SK's, which is weird and random, but ok. Ilyarin is pretty sure he prevented harm. Two people died. Culting is pretty harmful. Mason recruitment isn't. I definitely didn't get anything. It's not a confirmation of anything, you're right, but...eh.
Furien2009-08-02 07:40:03
Culting can be harmful, but I wouldn't consider it that way if it was pro-town. If I could say what blocked the pamphlet, I would- could have been a roleblocker for all I know.
Xavius2009-08-02 07:45:35
You know what I really don't like?
That I believe him.
Unvote: Furien
I was going to be first on the train to lynch you if your skill didn't confirm itself, but you seem resigned and sincere.

Regarding AtS, I don't see how he did anything wrong... it was Arix who jumped the gun. That is, considering AtS as being 'eager to confirm a townie' holds about as much weight as considering Rika as being 'eager to confirm a townie'. I mean, I don't see how AtS could've known that someone with a double-vote would use it right then... so, to him, a 2-vote-buffer was about as good as a 3-vote buffer.
I'm still not liking Ilyarin. More because his power is confusing me than anything else. Wondering what could've been the cause of the earthen mark... of course, not much of a basis to go on, but harmful actions are pretty harmful.

My vote isn't moving from Furien unless there is a really good reason.
First of all, I believe Ilyarin is town. He has a day power, which through Kira's words seems to have prevented a bad action:
When asked to say who Furien tried to induct, he refused:
And suggesting the watcher can out him/herself is a very bad idea for us! It is too soon for that.
Furien's argument for not telling us is essentially that we might not believe him, so we'd lynch his inductee too:
Then there's the fact that he finally admits that Xavius was the one he targeted, though Xavius did not receive any sort of notification about being in a cult and all night messages have been sent.
Furien claims he's been "pretty forward in all the details here" but if you look at the posts from yesterday and today, he's been dodgy all along:
I think Xavius is right that Furien may not be so pro-town after all, given the block on a harmful action:
to which Furien just replies:
Which isn't a very strong argument. It's hard to have solid proof at this point, and those that can provide it shouldn't yet.
So, I think Furien is not what he has claimed/claims/will claim to be.

QUOTE (Furien @ Aug 1 2009, 05:35 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
And I did, I don't seem to be dead right now so whoever was watching me last night (if anyone) will know someone else is town like me.
Totally up to either of them (first inductee or the watcher) to speak up if they want, though. It's still a work in progress.

No, I can't tell you who is a townie you can trust, when you think about it.
For all appearances, I seem to be a cult. All you have is my word that I'm town and my openness of the fact that I have a cult mechanic.
Ergo, you'll only have my word that this person I 'out' as a townie is actually a townie. It only serves to bring more stress and suspicion on them. Maybe I'll out people when I have one or two so that my death won't be in vain, but for now I really want to leave it up to them while I think about how to proceed.
Considering it's only 'they're town' that people find out, their powers won't be in any danger, which is good. But I still want to leave it up to them.

For one thing, Ilyarin seems to be town, so I don't understand the suspicion on him.
Secondly, I don't see anything suspicious on AllergictoSabres' vote. He voted before Solanis claimed so he wasn't "eager to remove a confirmable townie."
Here Allergicto votes:
QUOTE (AllergictoSabres @ Jul 31 2009, 05:02 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
*sigh* You know, for some reason (And don't misconstrue this as me having some actual knowledge), I just know Solanis is going to turn up town. And once again, I'm going throw my vote in because we have little to go on, no way of confirmation yet, and we're stalling. I hope I'm wrong and Solanis is actually scum.
VOTE SOLANIS
VOTE SOLANIS
I read the "I just know" not as "I know because I have a power in the game/I am scum and know who my people are" way, but rather "Solanis is acting scummy so I'm going to vote, but in past games he hasn't been scum even when seeming scummy"
At this point Solanis had not roleclaimed.
Solanis later claims:
QUOTE (Solanis @ Jul 31 2009, 06:50 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I'm a mason. One shot day-kill.
I'm Lucario, the pokemon. And yes, my mason is also a pokemon.
I'm Lucario, the pokemon. And yes, my mason is also a pokemon.
And Arix then double-shots him for the lynch.
I also don't like that Rika is voting for Allergicto for being the 10th vote, when she ends up casting that 10th vote when she unvoted then revoted before he claimed.
(Though going back and looking at it, I can somewhat understand it now, given Solanis said he'd claim but then didn't yet.)

The soothing Fire.
Listen to me, fellow people! I fear for the air we breathe! We use dirty fuels with wanton disregard, polluting the atmosphere with harmful chemicals. It is time to embrace, wholly, clean and reneweable resources! Take your fossil fuels, and your nuclear power and shun them! Shun the waste that they produce and pump endlessly into the skies. They will lead only to devastation! It is time we focused on the renewables: wind, water, solar, biofuel and geothermal! Ensure the future for both your generation, and the generations to come!
--
Unvote. I think I forgot to unvote Furien this morning, was in a bit of a rush. I don't know how to feel about him. On the one hand, he was very slow to release information, then was secretive, then gave it all out at once, and now he's secretive again. But on the other, I genuinely doubt myself when thinking of him as scum. I suppose, in the long run, waiting until tomorrow to give him another chance to prove his towniness won't cause too much damage. And if a scum roleblocks him (again? (do scum roleblockers exist?)) to try to make us lynch him day three, well at least they're not roleblocking a more important town role like doctor, investigator, whatever.
