This was pretty cool. I've never seen the Paladin Knighting Ceremony before.
Thanks to everyone who came, to Inagin for running it, and thanks to Ilyarin for sticking around for it. I know he was about to leave right before it was announced that it was happening!
Meir's Knight Ceremony
Link is to the html in google docs. Safe and all that jazz.

Who designed that, and how can I get something to work like that...

I think it may have been Terentia? I love the knighting ceremony, it's damn scary on both the knighter and knightee's end but its so fun!

What were you guys using for the illusions... since they obviously weren't the kind of illusions in the skillset?

It's hardcoded into the cathedral.

Hmmmm, I shall definitely have to poke Lisaera about some things now.

Yeah, what Shaddus says. When I touched the lectern at the beginning, the Cathedral starts "paying attention". It then gives reactions based off of key phrases/actions.

That is freaking awesome.

We do have something similar, a cleansing rite that has Moonfire shoot from the sky and hit the Tower. It really is nice to have some effects coded in.

I worked with Terentia on it a few years ago. Talk to you patron. Organisations can buy these sort of things with their (otherwise generally unused, at least in guilds) bankaccounts.

Grrr, the Spiritsingers just drained both our bank account and our guild credits when the specializations came out so we could put in an Alembic/Pentagram.
Course, not sure what we'd DO, exactly...

I didn't know we could use our money for something like that. That would be awesome. The Aquamancers just congregate at the fountain west of the pool. It's fun, but this would make it have more meaning. We are just sitting on these millions right now.

We do have those chimes. I can think of a few upgrades I'd like to make to the chimes.
We could also get Lleucu to do more stuff with plays, but I doubt we could get that. The original design included that she wouldn't interrupt plays in progress, but despite concerns raised and bug reports filed, she still interrupts plays just as much as on day one.
If there was only one thing we could get, though, it would be to make that cupboard preserve packs. Since we paid a huge gob of money for the novice kit trick, I actually do five times as much work maintaining them now as I used to, since packs decay so very very fast but packs are the only thing we can use now. What would be even better is if bookbinders got an origami skill that let them make very cheap containers that could hold 20 items and lasted a long long time, but which self-destructed on opening, spilling their contents into your hands. Then we could use those instead. That would be ideal for novice kits.
