I would like to think that I'm not known for whinging or moaning about events, skills and whatnot. I've issued one person in my life at the behest of others and thats it.
Now, however, I'm going to break my habit and have a bit of a moan.
Nifilheima just stole 125000 power each from Serenwilde and Glomdoring.
That is an obscene amount.
I fully appreciate that it will not be refunded and I will probably be shut down for the flippant nature of this threads title, but seriously, anyone who thought there would be an iota of understanding from the Glom/Seren playerbase was definitely smoking something not legal in 99% of the world. 50k each would have been bad but we would have shrugged, when you start taking 100k plus its just a joke.
This could have been fun, and I was enjoying it up until the point where I saw that power drain, now I'm just giggling at the utter alienation I'm seeing across clan channels.

For once I am speachless.
Sarrasri2009-07-30 02:49:22
I completely agree. Where does anyone get it in their right mind that 125k power, EVENT OR NOT, is fine? 75k power, I think we would have shrugged even, but seriously. Taint Maeve, make Faethorn a place not for forests, AND STEAL 125k power? I'm usually pretty okay with events, but this is ridiculous. Where was our option to Make Gorgulu into a fat, dancing pixie, stealing power additional to the hai'Gloh?

Huh. Where was the part when Ethereal took over the Cosmic Planes and they became Cosmic Ethereal? Where is our 750,000 power that we're due for doing this event.
I'm laughing at the antics of one or more admins that have taken upon themselves to completely undo all the damage that the Communes have done in the last three months and turn it into a complete boon for one org that was lucky and raided when only 5-6 people were around to defend. Seriously. It's ridiculous.
I can live with no discretionary powers, guards, even tainting Maeve would've been absolutely fine. However, now you're stretching it way too damn far.

It's the pendulum of extremes. Just when you think they couldn't have possibly swung it any further in one direction, they yoink it back in the other to an even greater extent.
And apparently they already forgot the backlash that occurred at the other end.

Actually, they'll just be directed to OOC clans and the bitterness will spread, I am sure.
It always does, somehow.
The only thing that the forum-ban on it has done is reduce forum-traffic, really. There's no enhancement to player attitude, thus far... and it has been in effect for a while now.

That could just be a typo considering that the other side of the rite only drained 25k power. BUG it?
Ardmore2009-07-30 02:56:20
That's unfortunate, and yes the admins do make some wacky decisions. I'm sure you'll see the majority of it back (hopefully). I can honestly say I'm not surprised though.
Hope everything works out!

Look, we spent the better part of a couple days to pull this off.
The 250,000 power that Magnagora got from completeling it also counts as the screw you to Celest, that got a supernal unbound but then put into some kind of healing sleep, thus satisfying the laws of Lusternia events making this fair and valid.

Actually, the other side drains 10k on raising and 25k on fading... so it doesn't really look like a typo.

Man, I remember this time just recently where Celest was considering turning itself over to the forests.
Seriously though, I don't want to see this turning into ten pages of complaining, like it probably will. Constructive action in game seems to be a good idea.

You got 250k power for a 5am raid. Seriously, dude, first your envoy responses and now this...
Zalandrus2009-07-30 02:59:41
Hah. I'm laughing right now because I'm thinking of all the ways Celest might've worsened its own situation in the long-term by helping with this...the event promises to be cool as it unfolds though!
Sarrasri2009-07-30 03:00:03
It's not a typo. This is apparently an event, so that obviously justifies it. You'll still get the power from the Xion Initiative when it fades, so that's another 25k from each forest on top of the power you just got.

Because it only takes a couple days to raise 250k power by any other means, I completely forgot!

Just a question, but...
What constructive action in game is even possible?

ololol. im so sad i cant be at home to hear all the boohooing and grief. ah well, will have to make up for it tomorrow! i think this here goes somthing alone the lines of you all bound raz so mag tainted faethorn.
Unknown2009-07-30 03:01:39
I'm just going to repeat that this entire event has been FUBAR and unfair to both sides. When the communes were winning it was unfair to the cities, when the cities start winning it was unfair. Anyone going "lol, it is your turn" needs to realize it is a game.

Note: Binding Raziela did not drain 250k power from Celest.
