So I have some more HoN keys to give out. If you like DotA, I believe you will like HoN. It's the natural evolution of it on its own engine. Reply or pm me for a key. If you didn't like DotA though, you will not like HoN, as it is nearly identical.
Oh right, I need your email to send an invite.
DotA concept/basics are at http://playdota.com . It is essentially the same game, which originally was a custom WC3 map that went on to fame and fortune in competitive pro-gaming, now designed on its own engine and customized for match/pub play. The verbal NDA was recently lifted, so we can talk about it, just not show footage/ss's. http://www.heroesofnewerth.com or google the title to read some HoN-specifics.

I downloaded, installed, ran it, got an error. Figured it was because my system specs were too crappy. Uninstalled.
My friends tell me it's just dota with flashy graphics. Although I expect that it'll only move away from dota as development progresses.
Edit: Oh , I probably have keys if Desi runs out (are they limited? I forget.)

Huh, and what are your Lusternia names again?
Unknown2009-08-01 10:20:34
I think it's obvious that they don't have any.
HoN must be an awesome game, if this is happening.

Up for trying it since my computer likely won't lag to hell like my old '98 did on the original...pinging email.
Posting mainly to at desperate googlers.

I'm pretty excited about this game, though I'm also looking forward to LoL too. DotA is King!

So far, LoL has been pretty awful compared to HoN.

Tell me more? All the reviews and forum comversations I have been able to find have been pretty positive. I love DotA (see my av) but don't need a 100% copy.

Personally I found HoN's interface to be clunky and unintuitive and the spell animations to be unnecessarily flashy to the point of distraction. (Honestly, do we really need to see the animation of a giant corpse-thing flying at the enemies whenever their Clockwerk equivalent uses Rocket, which does all of 200 damage?)
Thanks for the beta key anyway though, it was fun to look at

They cleaned up a lot of early UI issues, but I haven't really heard anyone complain that it looks so nice it distracts them before.
I told you before though, that hero is not clockwork. It's an original hero, strength tank, and that missile also has vision. It's meant to be used as constant harass/scout.

... what? That hero (the Pharaoh guy) is exactly Clockwerk. All of his skills do the exact same things as Clockwerk's, and yes, Clockwerk's missile gives vision too.

Gime one!

But isn't Clockwerk's rocket used as such? A scout and for harassment...
Chances are I'll die if I play this. First time I use a skill it's either;
1.) Ooh, pretty. *doesn't realize that pretty thing is his character dying*
or
2.) Didn't I see that before? *dies while he tries to think of a D.o.T.A.-like skill that resembled*
And from what I see now, it's just a prettier, shinier, Next Gen. mode of D.o.T.A. And D.o.T.A.'s being left behind... But eventually you'll all come back, a lot always do!
*reminisces while he downloads a PS1 Emulator to play the old games he missed*
And I should make a Tae'dae based off of Pandaren Brewmaster!

Yeah but I hadn't played normal DotA since he was an int hero with an extended range actual nuke rocket. I quit after the second CAL season.
Unknown2009-08-02 12:30:32
I've actually heard that the graphical effects are too flashy before from other sources too. One of the good things about DotA is they had it just right, it was never hard to tell what was going on. People say this is fairly bad in HoN but maybe they'll improve upon it, and that it's an issue but not as bad in LoL.
Still, I haven't actually heard any reasons why HoN is better than LoL anywhere besides that HoN is a 95% copy and LoL isn't, therefore HoN is better...

I think you're confusing Clockwerk with Tinker Clockwerk is an entirely new hero who was introduced around... oh, 6.52 or so.
