Lusternia is a world where magic is readily apparently. People call upon demons in physical form to do their bidding; they are able to raise and demolish forests with a flick of their hand; they can easily access other planes of existence with a slight use of willpower; they readily throw themselves at foes only to be brought back to life on a regular basis. I'm PRETTY sure real-life physics don't apply.
Nowhere in her description does it state you know... there being anything unreal or magical about her appearance, just that she has bizarre, likely horrifying, proportions.

I'm pretty sure it goes without saying in a world where when you lose an arm, you can put some lotion on the stump and it grows back.

What's it look like while the arm is regrowing though?

I think the rule of thumb is that unless there is good reason to believe otherwise, physics apply as usual. In this case, her proportions are frankly freakish.
Lendren2010-02-26 23:51:59
The only way physics not applying can be relevant is if her mean density is significantly lower than human mean density. Which actually is not that hard to believe. It's just a silly place to invest that level of suspension of disbelief. The obvious explanation is that the author doesn't understand basic physiology and isn't trying.

So wait are we supposed to believe that Lusternia's version of elves have hollow bones or something? Because unless you remove mass of some kind, 5'8" and 95 pounds is excessively thin beyond the point of starvation and emaciation.
Doman2010-02-27 00:39:20
Then why are maiden's 1500 pounds? Or my mandala 11 pounds?

Only on these forums would this argument be taking place. It's beside the point--- the point is that whoever wrote that is an idiot, regardless of the relationship of Lusternia rules to real life rules
Kharaen2010-02-27 00:44:37
People trying to justify that description...weird. Not every aspect of Lusternia is magical...anyways, this is a quotes thread, so more funny quotes! None of the griefer ones!

You're saying that things are even heavier? Good lord, so she's a skeleton.
Sarrasri2010-02-27 01:24:19
Maidens got on a great diet program and are no longer massively overweight but a nice 109lbs. Yay Jenny Craig.
Doman2010-02-27 02:12:54
oh well good.

Doman tells you, "You do that."
Your concentration breaks, causing you to cease your enchantment.

Well, it wouldn't surprise me if elves had less mass than a human.
But not by such a large amount.

They're elves, not Trill.

I eat 3-5 meals a day, I'm fine with that.

You make a fist and punch towards a small penguin made of ice, releasing a blast of pure elemental energy that slams into him, searing his flesh.
You have scored a CRITICAL hit!
A small penguin made of ice exclaims, "I'll see you flogged for this you ignorant pissant!"
This made me laugh so much...
