I see... Death by Drowning!

Glancing over towards Everiine, Asmodea Kamau, Siren of Winter says, "Are you
ready to hear what the Great Spirit's will?"

You say to Asmodea, "I am."

Turning towards the entrance of the hut, Asmodea Kamau, Siren of Winter says,
"Then let us proceed."

You follow Asmodea Kamau, Siren of Winter in to inside a haphazard hut.

Inside a haphazard hut.
Superimposed over this location, an ethereal forest reaches up to the sky.
Shabby chunks of wood, more akin to sticks than planks, have been fashioned
into walls. Rotting fronds hang from the ceiling, brown, curled leaves dangling
over the slick, mud floor. In one corner of the hut lies a few soiled blankets,
lumped together and stained with big, greasy blotches. Strewn haphazardly about
the hut are piles of unused bones of varying sizes, some having been picked
clean, others not. All along the walls are slanted and poorly constructed
shelves bearing intricate creations of both bones and flesh, some more
painstakingly fashioned than others. Sinewy effigies of antlered humanoids,
crafted from animal bones, dried meat and fur hang from the ceiling in several
places, spinning on a strip of tendon tied to the make-shift rafters. Blooming
in pristine white from the swampy earth, a single lily is planted here. Bandrui
Fyrgenwig chitters to herself, wild hair drooping about her face. Hackles
risen, a fierce timberwolf prowls about here. Frost forms and distorts the
ground underneath a mighty ice dragon resting here, gazing about its
surroundings with icy blue eyes. Barrow-keeper Akui Talnara is here. Moonsage
Solanis Carthan is here. He wields an athame dagger in his left hand and a
slender woodland flute in his right. Serenguard Bellarin Diodorus is here. Meae
Flowright is here. She wields a moonblade inlaid with a silvery triple moon
design in each hand. Asmodea Kamau, Siren of Winter is here, shrouded. She
wields the Icy Lyre of Winter's Fury in her left hand and a golden sunburst
shield in her right. She is surrounded by one reflection of herself. Ilaveuse,
Noyan en-Lam is here. He wields a solar eclipse shofa in each hand. Gregori
Mes'ard towers here. He wields an ethereal cudgel of argent mists in his left
hand. Kinson Talnara is here. He wields a moonblade inlaid with a silvery
triple moon design in each hand. Druid Lekius, Urothyr Istro is here, shrouded.
He wields a mystic cudgel in his left hand and a glowing powerstone in his
right. Adeleide Talnara, Adherent of the Mother is here. She wields a glowing
powerstone in her left hand and an athame dagger in her right. Kimusuna Ruark
is here. He wields a moonblade inlaid with a silvery triple moon design in each
hand.
You see a single exit leading out.

Bowing her head before Bandrui, Asmodea Kamau, Siren of Winter says,
"Greetings."

Asmodea Kamau, Siren of Winter says to you, "Please kneel, and await the Great
Spirit's decision."

You drop to one knee, demonstrating your humility and respect.

Gazing upwards, eyes closed, Asmodea Kamau, Siren of Winter says, "May the
Great Spirits show mercy upon this soul."

Asmodea Kamau, Siren of Winter says, "Bandrui, please read bones for Everiine."
Bandrui Fyrgenwig says, "That's it, Asmodea. She will read the bones for
Everiine."
Bandrui Fyrgenwig casts a scatter of bones on the ground, mumbling a soft, wild
chant before cackling with pleasure.

A rush of chill wind sweeps through the bones, scattering them, as tendrils of
grey mist rise from their surfaces, making faint shapes of faces, eyes, fur and
hoof, before hovering over the collection in a silvery aura.

Bandrui Fyrgenwig's eyes begin to roll into her head as she spasms violently, a
high, keening wail issuing from the depths of her throat as her hair flails
around her, swinging like strands of wet silk.

Bandrui Fyrgenwig suddenly collapses before the bones, her eyes staring
intently at their shape and configuration before sweeping them all up in one
motion and crawling to her feet.

Bandrui Fyrgenwig exclaims, "I see... Death by drowning!!!"
Throwing her hands in the air, Bandrui Fyrgenwig tosses her head back and
laughs sadistically.

Assessing your weight, Bandrui Fyrgenwig chooses a slimy coil of rope from the
ground of her hut. With surprising agility, she binds you up and then jabs you
with a sharp shard of bone, causing your muscles to stiffen as she cackles
softly.

Yanking at you with surprising strength, Bandrui Fyrgenwig drags you out to the
swamplands outside her dwelling, cackling and gibbering, her silver bone
necklace tapping against her collarbones.

Tranquil swamps.
Superimposed over this location, an ethereal forest reaches up to the sky. The
bright sun shines down, blanketing you with its life-giving warmth. A
mud-covered island rises out of the surrounding waters, a few scattered, thin
trees the only sign that there may perhaps have been full-blown woodlands here
once long ago. To the north, the wood have once more encroached on the waters,
creating a forested island. The ground continues to slope upwards to the
southeast, whilst to the southwest it plunges into a deep but crystalline lake.
Rising on the edge of the island is a haphazard hut overhung with entrails and
bones.
You see exits leading north, southeast, southwest, and in.

Bandrui Fyrgenwig stares at you and cackles, then drags you to the edge of the
small lake in the southwest. She chants dark syllables into your ear, and
suddenly you feel all willpower and defense leave you. Lifting you, Bandrui
Fyrgenwig holds you precariously over the still waters, in which you see your
reflection.

In a fierce motion, Bandrui Fyrgenwig dunks you mercilessly into the tepid
waters, holding you under with supernatural strength as you struggle to free
yourself. Unable to hold your breath any longer, you open your lips in
desperation, only to find the water rushing into your mouth with enchanted
potency, filling your lungs and squeezing out all air.

All natural noises cease in the Serenwilde forest, as if in expectation.

As the water chokes out all thoughts of breath and life, your flailing and
struggling slow, and your eyes open to gaze into the murky depths, embracing
the rest of death. Just before you lose consciousness, you hear as through a
distance the fierce keening of a female voice, wailing with righteous
despair... then darkness.

A bone-chilling wail echoes across the Serenwilde, fading into a despairing
silence.
You have been slain by Execution through drowning in the Serenwilde.
As your soul leaves your body, the elixir vitae courses through your spirit and
suddenly bursts in a bright light, forming a new body around your soul.
You have been slain by Execution through drowning in the Serenwilde.
A swirling force begins to tug at your soul and the world spins around you.
» Kills: 0 Deaths: 1 (Execution through drowning in the Serenwilde)
» Kills: 0 Deaths: 2 (Execution through drowning in the Serenwilde)

Bandrui Fyrgenwig stares about with large, emotionless eyes, then cleans
herself up and shuffles back into her hut.

Afterwards.

probe corpse

A bloated, rotting corpse lies here halfway in the water, barely identifiable as the remains of Everiine. The sun and water have taken a harsh toll upon the rotting body. Decaying cords still bind the corpse fast, hinting at the violence with which he was drowned.
It weighs about 30 pounds.

Why did you get executed?
Celina2009-08-11 03:59:01
Seren just got way more badass.

Why did you get executed?

About 2 RL weeks ago I helped with the hai'Gloh when I wasn't supposed to.

Awesome. Oddly enough, I've been considering different possible divination practices for use in the Ebonguard. I may have to study up on bone reading...

Also, that's awesome. Since when is Seren remotely gritty?

Haruspex!

It still amuses me that you Vitae'd through your own execution.

Haruspex!

Do you kiss your mother with that mouth?

But yes, I actually have considered having Tynghall read entrails. I just need to figure out a bit more about it. Bone divination would also be a good one, too, I think. However, I'm not limited to just one!

Shaman Tynghall will strike again. suspicious.gif

I just gave Azoth the 'Haruspex' title a couple of days ago, and if anyone does it before I do I will have to bitch at them until their brains collapse.

laugh.gif Really? How dare you help, as a GM too..
Unknown2009-08-11 07:27:29
The whole point is what happened after it. Whether or not Everiine's action actually influenced Celestian opinion is irrelevant.

Basically his bad luck.
Unknown2009-08-11 07:42:00
The Nihilists haruspexed first.
Eventru2009-08-11 10:11:18
I love Bandrui! Such an awesome story she has, too.
Shaddus2009-08-11 10:47:35
So, what I want to know is when does this happen to Viynain and Kielo? Weren't they part of the thing as well?
Unknown2009-08-11 11:25:16
It won't. The whole point is that Everiine is on the Moonhart Circle, ultimately it was his decision. He gave in the nut. He's in the position of power, he takes the responsibility for his actions.

If Viynain was still GM, then he might also have been punished.
Unknown2009-08-11 11:47:12
Oh man, awesome execution. smile.gif

What makes it irrelevant is that Ev pissed off New Celest, who then sat back while Magnagora did all the work biggrin.gif.

Nope, Ev tried to make it clear that he took responsibility for their actions too.

So basically Celest put in about as much effort as you did....
