Like I've said, you guys slowing down probably has very little to do with us - if it's slowing down drastically before us, it, again, isn't us. tongue.gif Those areas are your problems, and have nothing to do with us, our server, or our isp, afaik. The 'internet' routes you throw them to get to us - I don't think there's a lot one can do about it. I'm not sure your ISP can even reroute you so as to avoid those places. I suspect it'll clear up after a fairly short time, just like our problems w/ above.net did.

That said, Charune also rebooted the server and everything last night, so we're running with lots of open memory - so if you're still lagging, it really probably is somewhere you're being routed through (or your own isp).

It's the reroute for sure, guessing a bird got fried or someone spilled something on a switch

This has happened before, so waiting seems the only solution.

My average in ms is 185, but the city I live in gets its connections from Sudbury which is five hours away driving to the east. Anything happens between here and there and Sault Ste Marie goes down, I just learn to live with the occasional lag on everything from Facebook, to Lusternia to WoW. blackeye.gif

Sudbury.

Yes Desi, the next closest city in Canada is named Sudbury. tongue.gif

It's not the closest by any means, that's the other Sault Ste Marie in Michigan.

MC Hammer's house? I thought the swirling lightning clouds that Xenthos lives under were above some big tower with a flaming red eye at the top...

Hunh.

You actually posted this while I was on vacation (and thus not at the aforementioned location).

Is anyone else still experiencing the lag? I've missed two entire fights because I died before I saw anything.

Nope. Now that I've switched ISPs, the majority of my lag is gone. I still have some slowdown that may or may not mean I need to extend the range on my wireless router, but I've definitely seen a few things that look to be entirely Lusternia's domain, from time to time. Most notably, mobiles occasionally talking smack before I recover equilibrium.

She didn't get it too far wrong, seeing as you are the giant red eye and the storm clouds follow you around. And presumably you were staying in a large tower, it being your style.

Alas, all the giant towers had "No Vacancy".

Also, to Casilu: Last night I was having no lag, but Ragniliff was getting quite a bit. My ping was 105 average, hers was 750 average. I had her check her tracert to Lusternia, and there was a huge spike around Denver. You could try checking yours as well, but I imagine that's where your issue is / was.

Yes, but not a massive ammount, just spikes of occasional one-second-per-action lag.

You didn't book in advance? Very careless.

I seem to only lag during walking (I.E going into another room in quick sucession after another) And its like, half a second. But then it starts happening EVERY time I move fast. Its annoying argh.gif

None in combat or anything else, however. Now All I need is a good system to fight with sad.gif

EDIT: And I'm using the athletic ability that allows me to run fast, so its not that I'm going too fast for that. It happened with my old bard too... I think the Admins are out to get us ohmy.gif

The Lag: I think someone bombed an Asia gateway. Melville and I have been perma-aeoned for the past few days (we're in Asia). sad.gif

That sounds like client lag, not us. You're spamming yourself, and your client can't keep up!

Don't see why Tervic and I would be affected, then.

The problem with that is that she says she doesn't see the same issue during combat. There's a hundred times more spam in combat than in walking, last I checked. Lots more processing by the client, too.

The only "giant towers" in the area tend to be lighthouses, which are either occupied a long time in advance or are closed. Something about needing access to the lights for maintenance.

It is unfortunate, such lights would complement a giant eye quite well.

I've established that mine is clientside, but even that is weird since I haven't touched it all summer, and I was fine a few weeks ago.

I had a witty pun here involving Xenthos, a lighthouse and obscene interactions with a goat. But even Eventru thought it was inappropriate, so it is removed.
