Dude, for one thing, I'm not underestimating. I've had it happen to me, many times. I've been playing IRE since Achaea was still sparkly and new, and I've had plenty of time for grudge matches. It's hard to fight, sure, but it's doable. I've had more of this sort of trouble from one shopkeeper in a game than from all the grumpy Gods I've ever dealt with.

Two, I was giving you, the player, the benefit of the doubt, but this is too much. Eventru's been covering for you so much it isn't even funny. I'm willing to bet that you'd have been kicked out a long time ago if it weren't for him, and I KNOW Moiraine would right now be campaigning for that if it weren't for him.

I've heard all that BS before and that doesn't mean I believe it. Eventru is definately not trying to help me, or he would still have me in his Order, being an inner order member, using all his god powers to kill enemies.

Instead of having little verbal spars that consist of him calling me a cow something no matter what character he's puppetting at the time. Honest opinion, he's a horrible god and doesn't play the part correctly at all according to his help file.

Him telling people not to ditch you from the city doesn't have anything to do with him not wanting to give you shrine powers (and having you use up his essence, or hold a position in his order, or causing him a lot of essence every time you go off and get yourself killed). It's quite possible for him to be thinking something along the lines of, "This far, and no further!"

I was in his order till he killed me with his unstoppable god powers and I told him to go F himself. Since then he's just never been the same.

When you tell a god to "go F himself," you had better be ready for some screwing over. You've asked for it.

If you walked up to, say, Zeus, and told him his mother was a hamster and his father smelt of elderberries, you're going to get a faceful of lightning, and you are going to grin and bear it, because to do otherwise is going to get your cursed. You're going to find yourself going insane and killing your entire family, after which you are going to be hounded by the crazy vengeance goddesses, who will rip you limb from limb and condemn you to eternal torment.

Compared to this, all Eventru can do is get you kicked out of Celest, and/or make your character look stupid.

I still stand with my original stance, Eventru is a tool and doesn't play his god character the right way.

And unfortunately because all they have is crappy Ascendants anymore and never any players who are awesome enough to be gods, I can never show him how it's done....

All I will say is this, and I cannot speak for anyone else other than Eventru, however - there has never, to date, been an instance of someone privately asking for an audience to speak with Eventru, remaining respectful, even in disagreement and expressing frustration and opposing views with him, and getting zapped or otherwise punished. Behaving like a moron, attempting to 'call him out' in public, or anything of the like is generally met with an angry deity.

But I -can- guarantee that there will never be a zap without fair warning in private. Eventru's a stickler on being treated with respect by those he views as inferior beings - manage that, and he'll at least ask you to leave politely before you get a zap. And a lot of people have managed that, from a variety of orgs.

I do think, however, every Elder God would be willing to listen if you approached them in the aforementioned manner - or at least, they'd be polite enough to ask you to leave.

There is so much that's just plain wrong with that guy, I don't think any single massive systemic change in his outlook/personality will quite do it.

I'm all for trying to CYA (Cover your ass) But I can name three, count em, three times when I was arguing with folks on CT with no regard, no even utterance of your name and you killzapped me.

Don't try and play the politically correct, soothing administrative rping player/god when you are just as fickle as me when I go off on tangents.

Hell I'm even honest enough to admit that I did go buckwild on you AFTER those events, cause you abused your power in my eyes. I don't care if I'm killed by anyone, if I have some way to combat said killing, but when you're just going to jump into the middle of my kool-aid between my dude and city members, without even knowing the flavor, you got issues, that's why I hate you.

Enough. This thread has been off-tangent for quite a bit. Please get back on topic. If you wish to discuss the issue of over zapping or abuse of power, there are other channels available for said discussion.

The correct way of reporting possible abuse is to email support@lusternia.com. Bitching at gods IC does not help.

Now, roleplaying dissent/disagreement is a different matter, but if you really feel they are abusing their powers the above is the way to go. The sense I am getting from you is not that it was abuse, but that you were being intentionally rude on CT (maybe even ignoring requests to stop?). This very well could be incorrect, but that is the sense I am getting from this discussion.

Also, as to what Shiri is saying: You need to read your posts again, maybe. It's extremely evident what he's saying. You're very "self-centered" in all your posts. Think about it from the other side here. Or just from the uninvolved observer's standpoint... like Shiri's, and my own.

Further note that I am an individual who is not at all afraid to point out when I feel that gods are doing things I disagree with.

Alright last thing since Viravain said to stop, but in response to Xenthos.

I'm all for gods being useful, alive, bringing the world to life and being there for their guideance, but when they seem to only be there to screw with, insult, demean or otherwise harm (Zapping, cursing eta al) then they are of no use.

Hell, sometimes Eventru says some damn funny stuff and is entertaining, other times he's just as self-centered and unconcered with more then His (<--see what I did there?) image than he is with actually aiding the city beyond certain plots where he -has- to.

That's just my honest feelings on it, and I'm done, going to go repost my complaint about flow since it vanished on me and nobody explained why.

The complaint about flow was moved to the mods section to spare you from the merciless flaming that would have ensued due to the fact you completely whiffed on your assessment of both the situation in question and the skill in general in an undeservedly aggro way.

If you look at HELP GUILDPATRON (Or something similar) it shows that Gods advise and counsel the Guilds and Cities in matters pertaining to the organization, the Gods 99.98% of the time always have the organization's interest in mind.

I have looked at myself many times and have always inspired to improve myself, just cause Eventru said something on the line of, "Good try, keep practicing." And 9/10 times I have done a major improvement in combat or just my behavior in general, as most of the Admins(I'm pretty sure, well except Morgfyre.) are well behaved OOC.
