Also, if you are playing and Tekora does not have your email address, be sure to send it to him so he can do night messages without dealing with the restriction too much

Additional Information on Gameplay

This game features a 'Spell Card System'. At any time during the day or during a Twilight period, any player may challenge another player to a Danmaku battle. This is accomplished by posting in the thread, in bold text, "I challenge ! Spell Card Set!"

The player that is challenged must then choose to either defend or not defend. If defending, they must post in the thread, again in bold text "I accept 's challenge! Spell Card Set!" If not defending, they must post in bold text "I decline 's challenge!" If the challenge is declined, then the result will be the same as if the defender lost the battle. Then you do this.

If the challenge is accepted, a Danmaku battle begins! Both players must post in the thread, in bold text, "Spell Card Declare! !".

Spell Cards each hold a strength from 1 to 3, 1 being fairly weak and 3 being a very powerful barrage. The strength of a Spell Card determines how many dice will be rolled during the battle. To win a battle, you must roll a higher total than your opponent. If you are under any modifiers to the rate that hostile actions affect you, they will alter your total accordingly.

The person that loses a Danmaku battle will be subject to a roleblock that will last until Sunset (or Dawn, if the battle took place during Twilight).

Whoa, I checked the Lusternia forums for the first time in ages not too long after this was posted- lucky I didn't miss it.

Hrm, I guess I'll join despite the fact that I was trying to swear off forums >_>

If you don't like 'Super Mafia' games, I suggest leaving now.

Shaddus2009-08-23 04:06:32
I just hope this won't be one of the type where I have to consult a wiki just to play the minigame
Daganev2009-08-23 07:35:28

The way he phrased it it looks like everyone gets a 1, 2 and 3, and higher number wins, so you try to use the 1 when it doesn't matter if you're blocked...

or something.

So I guess there will be a huge swarm of roleblocks flying around, but we'll see.
Furien2009-08-23 08:22:38
Doesn't work like that.

You're given the names beforehand, or else there'd be no point. The names probably work as a evasive roleclaiming device. You challenge someone to a spellcard battle and if they accept, they whip out a card that we'll probably be able to find on the wiki to confirm who they are.

It works like this:

Shiri picks his level 3 spellcard.
I pick my level 1 spellcard.

Shiri gets 3 dice rolls.
I get 1 dice roll.

Shiri rolls a 1, a 2 and a 1.
I roll a 6.

I win, Shiri gets roleblocked. Because my total was more than his.
Tekora2009-08-23 15:13:59
Furien's right, it's the 'Risk' system. And because there IS a potential for abuse with the Spell Card system, I'm limiting the number of battles that can take place to 2 per day.
Zynna2009-08-23 15:56:42
So if challenge happens during day and is succesful it prevents day action but not night? And if during twilight and successful prevents night action?
Kiradawea2009-08-23 20:10:22
That'll be a neccessity for sure. I just hope the spellcards won't serve as idenitifiers of our characters, or it'll be ridiculously easy for the town to win as they're essentially given four investigations each day...

Regardless, it still looks like it's gonna be fun.

whats the status? Oh and pinned

maybe it should be made clear that this is a sign up thread?
