Seriously man, calm down. Changes like this need to be placed on the live game so they can be balanced out. They tested it on the test server, thought they found a number that would work, put it on the live game, and found out it wasn't working like they thought it would. They are now trying to fix it with help from the players. Instead of making a bunch of noise offer helpful suggestions.
Indeed, Estarra has specifically said it is being worked on even as we speak.

As for Aetherspace I still think it will go back to uninteresting when the experience is compleatly balanced out. I'd rather see hunting made complicated with good rewards then simple with ok rewards. At the moment non-automated hunting is still two or three commands that you repeat over and over again, no different from bashing. If you're a empath with a good captain you barely have to touch the keyboard. And with the change in constructs we have no need for aethership battles. In general aetherspace is still fairly boring.
In general, all bashing is boring. Not that it makes things any better with regards to aetherspace, but if you're looking for an exiciting time bashing... you're looking in the wrong game. For me, I've never liked the aethership/space idea. Adding in bells and whistles won't get me up there, and I'm perfectly okay with that.

Please make ship to ship fights not suck, ok thx.

It's not even that bashing as a whole sucks but if aetherbashing is pretty much the same and as boring as regular bashing there is no reason to be up there. And having a big open area with little use is just sad.
This would help.

Surely you jest. Why would people do such a thing?

I haven't heard anything about PvP aetherfight stuff. Care to elaborate?
Also, that could be the player solution to afk-aetherhunting for the time being!

I dunno if everyone feels that way. When I was a player many aeons ago, I used to find bashing meditative (and I never used triggers). Indeed, even when I was relatively high level, I would still bash rats just because I found it somewhat soothing. BTW, there's no better way to intimately know ever crook and cranny of your city or commune than to regularly rat and weevil!

I certainly feel that anything except astral bashing is boring, mostly because I can tank it without even worrying about health potions. I'm a lv92 human EG and I nosip bash everything except the high level areas.
Astral, on the other hand.... gogo redlining and then getting eaten by a horde of 6 evil nasties because I linked one time too many when someone -just- so happened to wander into the sphere, or the OMGPANIC of trying to kill them all. Good times.
Vathael2009-08-24 23:16:26
i like to bash too.
Kante2009-08-24 23:18:15
Bashing bores the ever-loving HELL out of me. But, I want demi for the potential ass-kicking ability, and for the RP potential.

Back years ago, what I would do when I would raid Nil on the wee hours of night when no mags were about is to influence weaken all the demons, getting exp for that.
Then killing them, double exp. Though I think I was lowering the exp I gained from them as a reflection of my weakening them.

So what, 180% xp. Still not bad.

Not that anyone would metagame like this, but if you empower a denizen and then kill it, you'd maximize the xp value!
Er, ignore me.

Unfortunately most of the things worth killing when you hit the higher levels, are tied to commune/cities and cry like stuck pigs once you actually start hitting them. It would be nice if there were neutral influenceable bashables

Like Kephera/Illithoids? Don't know if they can be empowered, though.

They can be, Kephera have really varied mind sets though.

I totally did that in illithoids, pre-ascendant.
I mean... For shame! People metagaming!
