People got word via the forums that the exp might get nerfed, so they're trying to get as much as they can before that.

Can you blame them? I went from 77 to 81 just by aetherhunting these past two days.

This is getting ridiculous.

Yeah, it's crazy going out all the time. Not really that fun either, especially if you end up on an aethership where people don't talk, or can't talk. I'd like to be a demi too, but it's not worth having an utter lack of fun because of this. Although, there is very little fighting going on because of it, so I'm enjoying that. Nothing is more annoying than being in the middle of a good conversation, and then having to end it because of a battle. Plus the RP thing, not much of that happening... Like everyone dropped off the face of the Basin.

I'm not doing it anymore. It's ridiculous. I've gone out two times, went from 79 to 81 with a grand total of probably about four hours, and I went as a gunner and a siphoner.

As a gunner, I now have five simple triggers that completely automate bashing gargantuans and elementals and such. If I wanted to make it 'smart' and automate on anything, I'd only need two more. I think.

As a siphoner, I just made my tick timer send 'siphon vortex extra' every few seconds.


That's it. Fully automated super-bashing, little to no risk, no investment of note for anyone but the ship owner. I like easy experience as much as the next person, but I just can't do something anymore that makes me feel like I am very literally cheating.

Yeah, I'm empathing on a ship right now and well, I've got time to write a post. I honestly have to do nothing. Getting level 80 was nice but I'm also going stir-crazy. I don't really have to touch my keyboard except for once every twenty minutes or so.

Would you rather me sing 99 bottles of ale Fania, or talk about how the grid makes you look 'matronly'?

I actually got griped at because I didn't have everything reflexed. Yeah.. I was doing it manually. Sue me.

I now have empath reflexes so people don't die because of me.

There is little to no RP going on at all on ships. Which really really bothers me. The whole world could be coming to an end and people would probably still aetherhunt. Oh and getting cussed on SHIPT makes me a very stabby player.

I've been on my fair share of Aetherhunts, but no where near what some of you are doing, I've only gained three levels off it in the whole time of the experience bump.

Quite a few have made 10-20 off it.

I'm conflicted in two ways about experience as a whole now anyways:

1. Hunting and Bashing gives absolutely crap EXP to me now, I'm a human, nearly always have a Harmony Blessing on me and hunt Astral quite regularly, plus undershard or whatever the hell it's called. Yet I can't make :censor: for exp doing that, it crawls ungodly slow, like gaining a level every 120 hours of straight bashing (Week or so if I really lay in)

2. Aetherhunting is really good exp now. But honestly I think everyone is using it because there is such a shitty balance of exp from other things, Influencing, Bashing, quests etc.

My solution:

Increase the experience for bashing/influencing so it makes you still work, but not to the exclusion of even being able to sit and :censor: with someone at your nexus or in your manse.

And set a limit on how much you can aetherhunt, similiar to how much you can learn in ship proficiencies.

This way you don't have people skyrocketing to the top of the level list with triggers (I use em too so I'm not claiming innocence) and people who actually go out and kill critters, do quests, earn EXP faster then old people have sex.

Really? What were you even hunting? Nothing is that difficult to manual while hunting as a empath.

This is IRE, there is no such thing as RP, but otherwise I agree.
