They clearly just have no idea at all, Dag.

The concern Dag is trying to point out isn't identity theft or things that are inherently 'bad' but more of a shades of gray issue. With this program it is very easy for them to monitor which websites you go to, what you search for and basically anything you do in your free computer time. Within the program there is likely some scenario that allows them a basic legal opening to distributing that information to advertisers and other big money big name companies. In exchange for that information they get money and as of result of it you are targeted quite specifically in the click through adds for things they've determined you've an interest in.

Read, digest, comprehend. Don't just spew.

I was originally pointing out pretty much what you are now, without the attitude. Then I cracked a joke when someone failed to read, digest or comprehend. Now I'm explaining myself because it seems to be spreading. Funny.

There wouldn't need to be, actually. They would just sell the trend data to the sites users go to, pretty much.

Oh hey Myspace, 82% of your users Googled 'furries' this week. Now pay up!

How does "82% of our users googled furries" violate what you just wrote?

It's like those ads for "turn yourself into a cartoon" on facebook. Same system.

Not all advertising money is made with click-thrus btw. Most of our ads get paid on CPM not CTR. It depends who is advertising and how well you can target your demographic.
