My other speculation would be Marisa. She initially showed up in the game as Mima's 'minion' and stole several of Mima's key moves, though she's been the secondary main character in every single Touhou game since her appearance. That may be a way for Mima to hide herself, honestly, since her cards will be so similar to Marisa's. Generally look out for a card that's flower/nature-related (Yuka) or anything involved 'Spark'. Namely..Double Spark, Love Coloured Master Spark, Final Spark, Sure-Fire Master Spark. Uh. The works.

Yeah, I don't disagree Othero. The no powers statement doesn't fit, especially with the lack of denial toward the claim of the name.

Assuming that I'm right, and that Kaguya is indeed the rival, it's an odd sort of mechanic when I consider that as far as lore is concerned, Mokou and Kaguya try and murder eachother on a nearly weekly basis, but since they're both immortal it's basically for sport. But why would Kaguya be scum? A totally isolated Moon Princess. Her caretaker, Eirin, is probably going to be our doctor role, if not a resurrector. I could possibly see some sort of vengeance angle in regards to Reimu preventing her from replacing the moon (Imperishable Night, Touhou Eight, long story), but eh.

I was more just basing it on the fact that rivals tend to be a town vs. scum thing.

So Kaguya and Othero's character are at odds. If Kaguya is some sort of moon princess, (and that doesn't sound scummy) does that mean Othero's character is scummy, or no?

Well, in the prologue, Yukari sent Ran to fetch emissaries from 5 locations:

Eientei
Scarlet Devil Mansion
Hakugyokurou (hahhh I spelled that right)
The Palace of the Earth Spirits
The Human Village

Eientei is the mansion where Kaguya, Eirin and Reisen all reside. Mokou is basically a rogue immortal human alone in the Bamboo Forest who often helps guide lost humans to safety. As it stands, neither of them sound particularly scummy.

So Furien is right and you are Mokou?

Actually, checking that list of 5, there is absolutely no mention of Youkai Mountain or the Moriya Shrine.

The Moriya Shrine has its own shrine maiden (Sanae, similar in role to Reimu) and two goddesses (Kanako and Suwako), and during Mountain of Faith (game) they attempted to destroy/subvert/control the Hakurei Shrine (Reimu's) in order to acquire the faith of the people of Gensokyo for their own power. So, cliche'd as it may be, this really could be part of a Moriya Shrine Conspiracy yet again.

Well, that battle was actually fairly useful, I think we can at least confirm their names for now (I remember Flaw of Forgiving Shrine, painful card).

Regarding Shaddus's post, she's not usually 'scummy' since Mokou just hates Kaguya for turning down her father, but we can't say at the moment because we don't really know what scum looks like. Aside from Mima/Yuka, I'm not sure if we should be looking for 'scummy' characters or usual non-scummy ones converted to their cause or somesuch. Personally, I wouldn't put it past Tekora to have included elements of the rivalry in some aspect of both the Kaguya/Mokou roles, but it's probably not a town/scum difference.

Spellcards are a pretty solid indication of role name, because excepting certain cases Furien pointed out earlier, all of them are unique to a particular character.

Hi guys, I see someone has decided to try out thr spell card thing. To those speculating about Celina, it is entirely possible for someone to have targetted her knowing people would assume it was me. As for me, I am not responsible for Celina's disappearance, if anyone is a lie detector type

The other thing is that Celina may just be mod-blocked. Considering we started as Night, with an 'attack' (shrine being destroyed or whatever). I'm a bit lost as to all this backstory business (accursed complex mafia games that require hours of reading), but it would seem to me that Othero is non-scum and Llandros is either non-town or Vig. Preliminary, baseless accusations away!

So we have two roles name-confirmed, and Celina missing, but no deaths. No one's called roleblock yet though, and if doctor intervention was involved naturally that won't come out.

One thing to remember about this game is that the person pegged as a villain in the signup post (Yuka) is a loner so we won't be able to figure stuff out based on name alone. THAT SAID at some point we will want to do a mass nameclaim, because there are not THAT many characters in Touhou (something in the order of 50 in the modern games), it's very easy to confirm nameclaims here, we can roleblock scum - so we should be wary of people declining those and we can probably narrow down the "teams" fairly easily.

Elaborate unless it will give away your role!

Oh yeah, and if anyone from the Hakurei Shrine (Reimu, uh, Suika?) wants to talk about what happened there that would be great.

Why Suika didn't just mash the MPP button to save us all some time I will never understand.
