QUOTE (Lorick @ Sep 24 2009, 10:26 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I don't know what my last word does, no one knows, but I was operating under the assumption that if one followed the wording it would have something to do with such. Shiri, the longer this game goes on the more you seem to be reaching for instants that would paint me in a bad light.
Celina - Anyone consider perhaps it was Celina's last word that caused the destruction of the mansion, thus causing all the events and perhaps explaining how the mafia did not provoke twilight?

Huh? We have 2 instances of you directly lying, that's all, and only one is excusable by not reading the wiki carefully. You certainly don't sound like you're "operating on an assumption" in the quoted post. It's not like I had to reach for it either...it struck me pretty clearly given the last word topic.
Your suggestion about Flan's last word kinda-sorta makes sense...
Lorick2009-09-24 12:01:00
... In the quoted page I use the words "Tends to" not "I'm sure of". Also known as speculation. If you want to try and paint it as me claiming to know exactly what last words do, that is your business, but no ability or character, town or mafia, thus far has shown any ability regarding that information and I certainly don't have it. I make guesses based one what I can witness, take it for what you will.
Shiri2009-09-24 12:07:18
The obvious solution wouldn't be "mafia ability to know what his last word does" so much as "lying about knowing what his last word does for the purpose of deflecting lynches", which is not a good move even (especially?) for a self-confirmed power role. Calling out "tends to" is an interesting move because in normal English and that context it wouldn't indicate uncertainty about the general nature of it, just about its reliability.
I also have to wonder about this line: "Shiri, the longer this game goes on the more you seem to be reaching for instants that would paint me in a bad light." Apart from the fact it's not true, it is really paranoid to try to cast aspersions on my motivation like this line obviously does for calling you out on this stuff. If you are a townie then we're already on the right track from your POV voting/slashing at Vendetta and Zetsu and (hopefully) getting Bali to clear Othero. You would have no need to be so defensive.

At no time was I threatened with a lynch when I speculated nor have I brought it up when threatened with a lynch. In fact, the only person to really bring it up was you and only for the purpose to state I had "lied" twice. I was refuting this claim by you toward me. If you feel like my answering of your accusations was "paranoid" that is your business but I'm not simply going to allow someone to state my mindset for me. If you have an alternate idea of what a card named "Invisible Full Moon" could do mechanically, I'd love to hear it, especially if it is different from manipulating time or actions that can occur during such a period.
So far, everyone's last words have to some degree followed the role plus roleplay, with the mafia having a distinct kill based last word selection. It would make some sense that Flandre's would break the Mansion, although I can not be sure about that. It's just speculation, based on what I could witness (IE, Flandre dead, Mansion gone, no twilight, card used).

I doubt it broke the mansion, the floating bit happened only after it was razed to the ground - and it looks like it 'activated' after the discovery. We'll probably find out what it does sooner or later.
Lorick2009-09-24 14:57:31
Yeah, not discounting that either Silf. Just throwing out theories and seeing how they taste really right now. For example, the mason's didn't activate until a certain condition was met, least it seemed so (Ran appearing and stopping Yuka's final attack), so it might be possible that Celina's simply has a condition that needs to occur before it activates. If the last word did result in the Mansion's destruction, it would help explain what occured since the pattern thus far has changed, but we don't really have an concrete information for or against. In fact, for a mafia game we've pretty much lacked any sort of concrete information. We don't have a traditional investigative role (Least so far) and the mafia itself seems to have powers that help make it immune to the roles we have (Mima's Ghost can not be tracked).

barring new information from the sword, or the othero/bali battle, I'm just getting tired of Lorick's behavior.

What I took from Ran's was that when she died it blocked the next attack made on Yukari (or maybe me, but we won't find that out now and it doesn't matter.) The problem with extending that theory to Celina's is that there was an effect in the thread when Ran died. I didn't see anything about that in Celina's case (I might have missed one though.)
Unknown2009-09-24 16:30:19
It could have done so discreetly (i.e. via PM) - so maybe it gave Remilia a power, made her go mad, etc, things that we wouldn't actually see happening in the thread. But it's all just idle speculation at the moment.
Are we waiting on the Mokou/Kaguya battle?

If we are then I'm waiting for Xikue to retry the sword on Vendetta. The day reset so it should actually be usable.
Shiri2009-09-24 16:49:29
Can't you like...get on with it? One of you is very likely scum completely independent of the results so there's no point dragging it out while we wait for various people. We'll do the lynch independently anyway.
Unknown2009-09-24 17:12:49
I challenge Bali! Spell Card Set!
Unknown2009-09-24 18:45:02
!
I dont know if Tekora accepts for me, or if I'm supposed to accept automatically, or if I dont I'll get yelled at, etc.
We shall see.

You may as well just accept, if you have to do it anyway you may as well rule out getting-pissed-at-your-not-doing-it.
I'm surprised Othero did the challenging though.

I already made my fancy slashy move. Just waiting on Tekora. (Poor Tekora. How much extra upkeep does he have to deal with when time's turned back? ^^;;)
Lorick2009-09-24 19:59:54
Yeah, I know. Waiting to hear back on my block as well.
Daganev2009-09-24 22:31:06
I think I have the most overpowered town ability ever.
Arix2009-09-24 22:40:58
If not you, I probably fall somewhere in the top three
Unknown2009-09-24 22:44:06
The invincibility seems pretty over powered too.

Not really. unless you are scum. That's just one less target the mafia needs to worry about since they only need a majority.
The only weakness that town has is the lack of knowledge. But turning back the day means we get knowledge without losing the scum being able to attack back.
