There is a huge difference, from a defender's standpoint, between raiders who come in and fight until they die... (Sojiro/Krellan used to do this, and Gregori sometimes)... and raiders who come in to run around doing absolutely nothing except killing lowbies and cubixing out when they get in trouble.
No doubt it's more satisfying when an intruders just let themselves be swarmed and overkilled, but why would anyone do that?
As far as Gregori is concerned, seeing as he loves posting logs or raving about each time he tanks three demis for a few rounds in his demesne, he probably just tested his limits there, too.
I don't see how chasing someone around is more fun than the person just leaving, either, but maybe tastes differ.
And actually, I'm fairly sure that neither Shuyin nor Krellan just stay around and let themselves be killed if they can divinefire and cubix out, for instance; both make a point of staying alive, usually.

Note that I said "used to". Back when they were Glom-raiders raiding EthGlom for the challenge we'd get them about half the time (at least one, with the other leaving, sometimes both). It also depends on whether the raider is just spamming escape skills to ensure that they can't die, or is caught. You're right that chasing a person for an hour just doesn't do it either.

Nah, testing my limits was seeing if you could kill me on Water before I got bored and left. As it turned out I got bored. Heck.. I even had to tell you to go get some friends to help you that's how bored I got. See, now that tested my limits.
p.s. That 'few rounds' was 10 minutes.. while full locked and on the cross constantly... they ended up dead.. oh sorry.. 2 of them ended up dead. Jozen ran as soon Liam dropped.
p.p.s Thanks to Urazial for coming at the end there and helping score those kills
p.p.p.s Not even having a meld when they first attacked me. Was still on my second effect for setup when they got me on the cross the first time.
p.p.p.p.s Jozen sipping love and not being enemied to my meld/passives and putting me on cross repeatedly and I STILL TANKED THEM ALL
p.p.p.p.p.s how many p.p.p.p.p.p.p.s'es are grammatically correct?
p.p.p.p.p.p.s oh yeah and I was Divinefire bugged so couldn't even get off the cross! OMG RAVE RAVE RAVE.

Are people purposefully trying to be difficult? No one said "sit there and die." However, there is a clear distinction between someone who constantly runs and returns knowing they can't win, much less manage a kill against superior fighters/forces (you) while trying to pick off fae knights or the lowest level person there, and say...me who has fought against superior forces (and died sometimes) many many times, alone, because I enjoy it over playing the "haha you can't kill me because of mechanics" game.
It's ego versus enjoyment.

Everything, and I do mean everything, in this post is incorrect.
People raid to kill mobs very frequently and run from any sort of fight(aka daily without fail). People have also raided with 0 daughters around, repeatedly, and for extreme periods of time. Their only interest is group curb stomping Urazial over and over who can't turn a trigger off.
Honestly, selective memory does not help your posting credibility. You know both of these things happen.

I don't care about what 'credibility' I can bolster with you. I know as a fighter that I don't go in to kill the mobs unless its to get an 'OMG ROMERO IS ON ETHERCRAP' reaction. And then I hope that maybe I will get a sizeable zerg thats manageable by one person. And the only reason I leave without combat is because say I go in to fight Xenthos, then Nyir, Urazial, Viynain, and a few others rush me. This is the reason I leave and the reason any other PKer leaves, why because a horde of 'combatants' won't fight you alone and have to bring unbeatable odds. So leave to fight another day. And seriously, if my post is wrong. Make daughters repop every hour or thirty minutes and drain power on death. I can guarantee you will see alot more of Narsrim and other raiders in that situation.
Demons repop and drain power but you don't see them being killed unless its off hours by you, Celina. and yes I have powerlogs from within the last week or so.
I point back to my post on making domoths a 1 on 1 affair between ascendants/demigods. It got drowned in the crap of 'make cubixs not work' and 'don't let them enter ethereal omg.' Simple idea. 1 Domoth per Demigod. Can't challenge if you already hold one. Justice Harmony can be made into debate contests. All others are 1 on 1 fights, winner takes the domoth.
Also, make combat challenge for combat rankings diminish points if the offer is not accepted so that way people can't horde points and refuse to fight.

I will also note that aside from being able to meld ethereal, Iytha's post is entirely correct. She's a hive mind, but that hive mind is unneccecary. So ignore her unless you really need to defend Ethereal.

Totally agree. I really don't mind resetting mobs either. Raiders don't come to kill mobs. They kill mobs to lure out defenders so that they can fight and if you take too long to come out, they all die.
Actually, raiders also kill mobs because the defenders get pissed off about it. If the defenders were like, "Bleh, go ahead. They don't help us much anyway, screw 'em" there might be less raids. It's griefage.
Vathael2009-08-30 19:38:52
I enjoy fighting, raids, solo fights, group fights, whatever. I enjoy 6 people in a meld trying to kill me and not being able to accomplish it. Some times it's a little disappointing that I miss out on a kill because it's rather difficult to hold an offense with 6 people hindering, sapping, choking, whatever but the enjoyment out of that comes when I don't die.

There are no off hours. Defenders show up a solid 95% of the time, most of the time from Celest and Mag. I still manage to get kills.
Even if there were off hours and defenders weren't showing up and I wasn't alone every single time, you can't bitch when Mag gets back exactly what it dishes out. So deal with it.

Wrong, actually.
Maeve is the embodiment of all the fae. Fae = Nature spirits. Something happens to Maeve, Nature is in trouble. That's why the communes freaked out when she was Tainted, because it was going to Taint Night and Moon, the Avatars even said so.

As a note, I do not consider myself a 'combatant'. I fight when I need to, and I will try to defend even against very bad odds, but I don't do 1v1. I don't find combat fun, or interesting. I have a 2-year-old system that has barely been touched in those two years. That is not the part of the game I enjoy, so you can bet that when you 'come to jump me' I'm going to announce you're in Ethereal on Faethorn. Especially since... y'know... we don't want you on Faethorn. Getting rid of you quickly works for me. Especially since I'm not going to fight you 1 on 1, either. I don't really fight anyone 1 on 1. Like I said, that's not my interest in the game.
So, again, with that: I don't think your domoth idea is any good. It's not about 1v1, because these are -organizational- benefits. It also just puts the things in the hands of the top combatants at which point they will never change hands anyways, so... it's not like there will be any fighting with your idea.
Short version: Who the heck goes to Ethereal looking for a 1v1 fight? You're not going to find it, just like you don't find them very often on Nil/Cosmic. Defenders go to, y'know, defend and repulse the invader(s).
And then you have the 'combatants' who cubix to Faethorn, kill a 17-year-old newbie who isn't even an enemy to their city, take the body and immediately cubix out. Woo hoo?

I find it funny when players who don't know anything about the lore they are discussing try and tell those who have been involved in it, for the entirety of the game, "how it is".

Anyways, stop derailing the thread.

I could care less what makes an emo boy gag or cry, apparently its everything for you that isn't your way. The fact that you sway your opinion so much varied on the org you are in is just plain sad. I would be the same way against choke and sap if I was a commune member and to be honest I am considering going commune. I would be against fear immunity, I would think aeon needs a buff over its 12 or 15 second limit. And I would still consistently raid Magnagora if it was my enemy. But I know I wouldnt' fight a horde of untrained people who are told to spam vines or sap or choke until they win.
But the matter that you say there are no 'off hours', I am tempted to do a forum search with the words 'crying whining Celina off hours' I am sure I can find one within the last few days without the whole of your forum history about OMG OFF HOURS RAIDING HURTS. So pick a side. And sure I stick around in the odds, waiting for them to rush. I do like playing the odds at times and winning. Its satisfying to kill 8 vs 3 when at least 3 of those are Demigods against your team of 3 Demigods. In choke. In meld. With liveforest and shrine effects.

~8 months ago, Thoros' raids. Ya'll said there was pretty much 'no off-hours' time when it comes to raids.
Now that Celina raids, -one- person, a SINGLE INDIVIDUAL, it all 'QQ offhours raid!' ?
Whoa there, buddy. Whoa. You lost me.

Grow up. If you can't stick to the debate at hand, remove yourself from the thread. Degrading into "oh hell, she talked me into a corner, time to sling some off topic mud" is childish, however expected. You are doing little more than proving your opinion should be disregarded and is "just plain sad"
There are no off hours if competent defenders are showing up, which they are . Get over it. And no, you don't stick around. You go dormant the moment your team starts to lose. I was there when it happened.
edit: You are way to fixated on time, where as I care more about the presence of defenders. Defenders have been around very consistently for months on both Nil and Celestia. In fact, it's usually Celest and Magnagora defending.
