I suppose the whole arguement of revenge for Raziela/taint the forest isn't a binding factor? In a majority of Celest's leadership the mindset is the forests are getting exactly what they deserved. They let Magnagora and Celest fight each other for ages and picked off quite a few villages for the trouble for themselves. Now, they are facing two forces who have waaaaay more battle experience than either of them did. The result was pretty much what was to be expected.
