An Aslaran that needs courage.

"If it weren't against the rules, I think it'd be hilarious to see a character with multiple personalities played by different people."

Or you could legally get one person with genuine multiple personalities to play themselves as a character in Lusternia...oh...wait...been done before...

Out of curiosity, who was this person?

"Out of curiosity, who was this person?"

I don't imagine she'd want me to reveal her character's name after mentioning personal details about her IRL. Next time I speak to her though, I will ask permission.

A character in the style of the Traveling People from WoT, or more generically, gypsies. You'd probably be better off skipping the whole 'Way of the Leaf' style philosophy and hunt vermin though you'd still have to mainly rely on Influence/Quests. Finish your novicehood, but don't take any guild unique skills and it wouldn't be a problem as far as 'guild secrets' or anything was concerned. It would probably be more fun if you did it as part of a group though. It would make an incredibly fun group RP to go around as a nomadic set of traders/performers.

Heck, with some back story it could be quite involving, as the lack of heavy combat would necessitate slanting it heavily toward cultural and social interaction with group travel, hunting or influencing. A heavy emphasis on storing and advancing culture, maybe have them looking for some lost bit of knowledge that they don't even know what it is anymore, but will know when they find it. I think this might be more than an 'Idea bin' idea...

Truthfully it would incorporate a lot of the non-guild skills. Influence, dramatics, arts, planar and aethercraft (for the whole trans-planar nomad bit), as well as bringing trade skills into highlight. Might work especially well thematically with an ex-bard character, bringing music, acrobatics and hunting/illusions/tarot to the table. Could be fun traveling about, and when you reach a village/city/commune, setting up a performance or impromptu trading fair sort of thing.

Hmm, if anyone is interested in giving something like this a try, let me know.

I wish there was a Bard instrument that was bells or chimes. I want to make a Taurian Spiritsinger whose motto is, "I've got a fevah, and the only prescription... is moah cowbell." biggrin.gif

I'd point out that I have a lyre that has some chimes built in, but then again, maybe I shouldn't.

I've often wondered why there aren't more instrument types available.

The current five types are functionally identical. They all take the same amount of time to master, are wielded in one hand, don't differ in decay values (all other factors being equal), can hold the same runes and inscriptions, and affect damage and bardic abilities in exactly the same way.

I really like lyres, though, so it's not a problem for me personally.

Estarra is convinced there is no demand for any others. There have been no new artisan patterns, apart from new skills, in any category at all, since bards came out, because Estarra says there's no demand for anything.

I wanted to create a character that was the most famous tailor/designer in the Basin. They'd bump into people every once in a while and comment on their outfit(if it was good or bad and suggest improvement), then RP with them for a bit and ask if they could do some special task. If they were the first person to successfully complete the request, they'd be rewarded with a custom clothing design that only they would own from the character's "prestigious" cartel. This would happen on a regular basis whenever a new design could be submitted.

It sounds like a fun character to play with on the side as a minor alt, but between my character right now I don't think there's enough time.

I demand more artisan patterns.

Bump.

I had an idea for a Lucidian in Gaudiguch that tries to be fun, but fails miserably at it. Parties sort of like this.

Funny that you mention it, I had a similar idea recently, but more on the spirituality versus science angle.

A Lucidian who sees some merit and in the esoteric secrets of Gaudiguch.

Sounds something like the fashion police to me.
