Oh, and I forgot to revote. Vote: Lorick

Lynch someone to get information. We see who they were (presumably) and we can check voting patterns and do general scumhunting. We can afford to lynch town (and if not, Bali failed at making the setup and I trust Bali not to fail like that) today at any rate and I think the increased information could help us choose a better leader.
Please re-read the special rules.

...Arix, the warlocks were dead and attempt to brand someone else as one is fairly scummy. Same as your very random "Lets vote for mister we don't know anything about" attempt. I'm quite willing to come forward with myself and you attempt to brand me for it. Very odd.
I have various magical beasts and spirits at my disposal, and while I can't paraphrase essentially each one lends itself to a particular role. Anthony was the least defined one, and thus I figured the easiest show. I'm a mage, my name is Tith, the Tutor, and I'm here to save the kingdom.

We have to come to a challenge majority before the lynch majority requiem. So the lynching for information doesn't quite work that way.
Lorick2009-09-29 01:35:18
Also, you have to complete the challenge prior to lynching people....
Unknown2009-09-29 01:37:57
Ah, yes. I did miss that little tweak.
Well, I'm going to let my vote settle for a bit. Arix is also acting pretty scummy, and now it looks like Lorick is deflecting/bussing him. I'll see what other people have to say and come back in an hour or two.

Zetsu, I was in the process of writing my reply from the king's "hurry up". I didn't see Req's response until after I posted, and I couldn't go back and requestion. Since everyone likes to quote perhaps you might want to look at how close those timestamps are on those pages. Also, I figured maybe Anthony knew something special or secret about the gold in question that might have helped explain the current events, since I didn't really see a strong use for it.
Celina2009-09-29 01:44:28
Lorick will absolutely not be leader. I want to make sure he's 100% lynchable if his crazy train logic starts getting in the way again.
I'm also really confused how this game works.

Lorick2009-09-29 01:45:57
Crazy train logic? You mean how you helped mask a mafia last game (Zetsu) by not saying who freed you? Ugh, this is annoying and I don't even know why I bothered with this group.
Unknown2009-09-29 01:46:04
Basically we start out by selecting a leader who is unlynchable and gets extra gold. Every day you get a challenge quest as well as voting to lynch someone. Challenge quest has to be done before a lynch majority can be reached. Todays challenge is electing a leader. Tomorrow we may get something like to help or not help someone being attacked as an example.

Each day we get a challenge, which we vote people to accomplish. Last game we had challenge abilities to help with this, now we have a different system. Our success and failure for that part depends on whom we elect.
Every so often we get a market which we can purchase items from. You can not trade items and it is on a first come, first serve basis. We normally do no know what those items do until after purchase.
Hope that helps.

I also killed him. Guess you missed that part. Stop acting mafia superior and own up to royally screwing up last game, and do better this time!
The only way we would have known Lyco was scum by releasing me if is we knew killing Flandre would help Mima, which we only know now because the game is over. Not to mention you thought I was a jester/scum so why would anything I say have any bearing on your decision. Once again, baseless argument. You can not be leader.
edit: I initially assumed Lyco was town because he released me, and I knew I was with the town.

I see.
Well, going off past mafias I think the best leader options are Vendetta, Shiri, or Daganev. The non options would be Arix, Jack, and Lorick for various reasons. Not that I don't love you Arix, but I don't know what kind of weapons you are hiding this time around.
Lorick2009-09-29 01:56:07
Oh, for example, last game we had a robbers, an annoyed wizard, a merchant/thief story problem, tell us about each other, starvation, and a dragon, plus picking a leader. I'm sure Bali has fleshed out some new ones, but basically how it worked was the mafia in that game had someone who could take on any challenge and got a huge benefit if they got elected to do so. The town had to pick people who could do the job, while at the same time weeding out the mafia from the applications or they would buff them. Failure to do a challenge correctly caused problems, usually someone dying or everyone losing gold.
Lorick2009-09-29 02:00:45
I think you keep bringing up past games to make up for your lack arguements in the present. I was wrong about Vendetta in part because Vendetta did not understand his own pm and fed the town wrong information. There was very little reason for town to free Flandre in the last game, and doing so should of tipped you to whomever attemped. The only reason you had a chance to get revenge was because Tekora broke one of the core rules to not bring in past players into a current game in a new role. It isn't exactly a defense when it takes to lifes to get it right.

They were 3 minutes apart, Lorick. And while I realize from experience how entirely possible it is that you had already started typing before I posted, it still seems like an awfully convenient excuse.
And even if we assume that you didn't see my response first, you still rushed headlong into a question that you had no reason to suspect would be useful, but instead got you out of a potentially compromising situation.

Yeah, I know. It's bad luck on my part and very annoying timing at that. I tried to prove a point and it failed, ah well, better luck later. Essentially Anthony was good for any sort of ancient history one wanted to ask and my initial rejection of the first suggestion (confirm people, he can't do that) and Bali's desire to quit watching the thread led me to just asking whatever I felt he would know for certain. It's quite hard to think of anything useful someone who has been dead so long could actually know and give a definative answer on.

Hi there, everybody.
Let me start off by saying I'd rather not be leader. I'm too inexperienced - in more ways than one - and I think our leader should have some capacity to pay back on what privileges we bestow upon them. I also certainly think we shouldn't make such an important judgment based on the case of one person, so I'd like to hear more before trying to make any decisions! Surely there's a few out there who wouldn't mind boasting themselves up a bit?
Could just wait a bit instead of talking up a storm everyone else will need to wade through, too.

edit: Ugh, nevermind.
You were wrong about everything, Lorick. If you disagree, feel free to go read the Touhou thread.
This argument is over. You can not be leader.

Arix2009-09-29 03:46:52
I never had any intention of volunteering for leader, and no illusions that I'd do a good job at it. So yeah, non-option. But don't pick Lorick, we probably have a better choice out there somewhere
Arix2009-09-29 04:10:11
I guess as long as the king is the only dead guy he can summon, I'll let it go, but I don't trust magic-users one bit
