Some ideas

This is a list of some things that have annoyed me and suggestions on how to fix them.

An "apropos" command for easier searching of help files. For example "HELP DOMOTH BLESSING" is difficult to find because "HELP DOMOTH" is a link to a help file of its own. So it would be nice to "APROPOS DOMOTH" and have the title of all help files related to domoths appear.

Open communication between Mentor-proteges.
Something similar to the Ascendant ability of "Omniscience" would be useful. If your protege has a question and you're both awake, then it's annoying that you can't have two way communication via tells just because you're not on the same plane. You could use the in game message system.

A message buffer for aethers other than tells. ie) Similar to TELLS command. Although you can/should use a client to accomplish this would be nice to have. if the reciever is afflicted with deafness it would also be good for the sender to somehow be notified of this. (Rael is unable to receive tells right now) An ALLAETHER buffer would be a bonus.

Referral program. Now and then I hear about how the combatant in Lusternia is stale in that there's a need for new blood. So you might invite a friend by sending them a invitation by email, and if they register in game and advance through the collegium a modest credit reward of say 3 credits would be awarded to the person who did the referral. You could even have RANKINGS REFERRALS and set milestones as ACHIEVEMENTS.

Examples for certain help files. For certain arena events I think it would be helpful to have some examples of how to do certain commands. For example in slippers it's not entirely clear whether "GIVE SLIPPER TO GODMOTHER" would work (I think that fails and you need to use GIVE SLIPPERS) but it's difficult to experiment and try these things out in the heat of an actual game.

Bardics and artisanals. Presently I'm not sure if anybody looks at the artwork other than fellow artists so it would be nice if there was a little recognition and the homepage (or the arts and bardic page) displayed a random piece of artwork.

Reduced experience requirements for circles you have already achieved. I'm just being hopeful now but this sure would be nice! At higher circles it is pretty frustrating when you die on Prime and expect to hunt/influence/whatever for 5,10,15+ hours to make up for the experience. I play Lusternia because it's fun, and releveling is more like work.

An OOC Channel. This likely breaks one of the tenets of Lusternia and ruin the atmosphere but if this were my mud I'd say lighten up and at least have the option for OOC discussion. By default you would opt out. Alternatively I could find enough gold for an OOC clan.

Accounts. If you have a number of characters it would nice to bind them together into a single account. Some benefits of an account could be a shared inbox for messages, logging in on your main will reset the "last logged in time" for all your alts, so you don't have to worry about a less popular character being wiped. An alt might receive a significant experience bonus if their main is higher level.

Just wanted to put these suggestions out there. I'll continue to add ideas as they come.

Hello, forums.
Hello, instant messaging.
Hello, Skype.

The playerbase has enough IC-to-OOC enmity that a game-wide OOC channel like this would be a cataclysm for Lusternia.

So yes, let us keep our OOCness to the above mentioned mediums or personal clans, at the least.

We have this, it's called HELPSEARCH.

We're using as many of them as we can on the Lore wiki too.

This might be too exploitable. I can get as many Gmail addresses as I want, or use something like mailinator.com, and create a giant farm of characters who advance the collegium and get me free credits.

It might not be quite as exploitable as you fear. The admin can and do track the IP addresses of players, and would be able to see if a whole host of players emerged from the same location all referring the same person.
