Well, there are two conversations going on. One is Lendren saying that the whole Shuyin/Viynain/Celina/ect. crew just sitting there for hours slaughtering, and then the one person coming in and out thing.
But concerning the one person running in and out, how much damage can one single person do in Ether-Seren/Glom? I'm honestly asking, because the way you guys talk about it, it sounds like a lot more than I'm assuming. My guess is this is going to come down to tree mulching. If it is, I'd ask that mulch/chop be looked at - or better yet the whole trees issue in general - than the transplanar devices issue. Get to the root of the problem. Get it? Root? AHAHAHAHA.

It's quite possible for one person to clear out all the Daughters/Ladies, especially if they're undefended. There are a max of 30, and each takes 10 fae of a specific group to create.
I'd be against making Daughters/Ladies repop unless they were also reduced to demon/angel-level strength. They're well above that currently.

Start open wargames in Seren that you won't cancel into a group of guards.
We're not allowed to have open ones at all, so if we do have one, it's someone getting the commands wrong, hence the cancel. (Why the heck are half of them done in one place and the other half done somewhere a jillion steps away? All the commands used in setting up a wargame should be able to be done in the arena room.)

People weren't telling us to ignore the situation of a huge group camping territory, I'll tell people to not go running into that usually. We were being told to ignore the single person constantly running in and out and instantly disappearing as soon as opposition appears, then just atacking somewhere else or coming back an hour later. <,<
A serious young man found the conflicts of Lusternia confusing. He went to many people seeking a way of resolving within himself the discord that troubled him, but he remained troubled.
One night in a tavern, a self-ordained Priest of Crow said to him, "Go, and kick the daughters of Serenwilde, and the demons of Nil. Only speak to those who live there to taunt them before returning to your home when opposition arrives."
He did as the Priest instructed. His kicking was often interrupted by opposition and soon he was captured and slain.
When he was sitting in his manse brooding, he overheard a conversation between a citizen of Serenwilde and a citizen of Magnagora through an eye he put in the ground. The Serenwilder said, "Who is this man, anyway?" To which the Magnagoran replied, "Some say he is a holy man, others just say that he is a head."
Upon hearing this, the kick-and-run raider became enlightened.

Ok, not that you care, but you totally just gained demonnic-esteem. Imbue as you see fit. =P

While I've been fully utilizing the "loyalsays off and ignore them" method for the last day or so, it still feels ridiculous. Someone says "So and so is in the wilde" and you just ignore them. Sets a great precedent for the novices, when we have trouble getting anyone to do anything as is. Especially when they get to actually mulching and killing and such, it just feels like we're playing two different games if I stop caring. There have been days recently where if someone said "Urazial is somehow solo killing the avatars!" I'd just shrug and turn off CT.

Here's something: Make minorthird/(insert fae here that stops mobs from attacking) not work on mobs who belong to an org you are enemied to. IE, If you kill moon ladies or night ladies, you can't soothe them into not attacking you.
Unknown2010-02-27 08:00:48
The reason why Daughters and Ladies don't repop automatically is because they are, exponentially, stronger than the cosmic mobs. They don't even cost the organization power if they're killed (unlike cosmic). Honestly, they're fine as-is.
Unknown2010-02-27 11:34:35
Ladies and Daughters are fine. It's just a couple of players that need to be fixed...

What about some discretionary power that leaves a sticky psychic residue on enemies who leave the area. If enough of the residue accumulates, they can't leave the area at all until it wears off. Example, each time they leave the area, they accumulate 1 point of stickiness. Every game day, they lose 1 point of stickiness. If they have 5 points of stickiness at any time, they will find themselves physically unable to leave the area (until it goes below 4).

Okay, I won't lie, but I have straight up killed the aspects of Crow myself after some of Narsrim's kick and run attempts. Then I False Memory it up and tell everyone that Narsrim did it. But this isn't cause I'm annoyed by it. People like to distort and spend 400 power to stop him raiding for an hour. I just sacrfice the Aspects and the same end results.

The problem with raiding, as I see it, is three distinct problems:
1: People who come in, then leave when defenders appear ('kick and run'). These people, while annoying, are usually managable.
2: People who come in, attack low-level loyals, then run away from defenders but keep attacking stuff. These are annoying and not managable, even though it's usually still one or two people.
3: People who come, meld the northern half of Prime Serenwilde, imbue Rad/Swarm, then pick off low-level people who want to help.
The 'real' raids I have no problem with. Take your big group in, slaughter everything on Ethereal, and get out.
The key part there, is the Get out part. I don't mind raiding if it's in little pieces, and they go for a specific, name-able objective. It's the incessant, multiple-hour #1 and #2 (run-from-competent-defenders tactics) that hurt the game (and the players' will to play).

Hmm, I don't really consider anything in Ethereal Serenwilde or Glomdoring to be low-level. Even at Full Moon for Daughters and New Moon for Ladies, they still take a considerable amount of effort to kill (not counting the occasional one-hit-kill from criticals, of course).
Unknown2010-03-02 10:56:00
Ladies and Aspects fall pretty quickly, from what I've seen. I hear someone report the attack, and I pop up there immediately, only to find the person has already killed an Aspect or a couple Ladies. (And, I get critical hits like they're going out of style, so there's not as much "luck" involved for a demigod or ascendant...)

I'm new here, so I don't talk much about game mechanics and whatnot.
But one thing I was appalled by is the fact that offpeak hours raiding is a full-steam go. Maybe it doesn't happen often, or people didn't whine enough about it, but some decency evolved over time in Achaea not to go raiding an enemy city when everyone (that is nighttime on the NA continent) is asleep.
It's my humble opinion that implementing that would make raiding more enjoyable.

Either people whine about it a lot less than they used to, or it really doesn't happen nearly so often any more. I haven't heard any serious complaints about the off-hour raiding from my organization, though I can't speak for the others. It's not like it gets posted automatically when a supermob is killed...
