So, if you are as big of a pokemon nerd as I am, then you are anxiously awaiting the arrival of Soul Silver and Heart Gold.
In order to fill the gaping vacancy in my heart where new pokemon games go, I picked up my copies of Fire Red, Ruby, and Diamond and started over again.
Only in Diamond/Pearl/whatever the third one is can you play over wifi, so yeah.
Anybody else play? I'll totally trade ID's with you and we can trade or battle or something. Or maybe just send mail, because that's totally worth it.

I did, but Pearl is just so different from all previous games that... yea. Sinnoh ruined the nostalgic feeling, which was really the only reason I played. Silver/Gold remakes sound interesting, though.

They've already been released in Japan, and my friend has a copy of the rom for Silver, and he says it's graphically updated, but the old game is pretty much the same, with a few added features.
January can't come soon enough, I've already pre-orderd. o_o

Actually, if you are going to be that way, then the only "real" pokemon games are yellow and green, but THATS NOT ON TOPIC PEOPLE

I'm getting my colors mixed up. For some reason, I thought Yellow was one of the original japanese games. Silly me, I know better.

Silver and Gold were the best. I look forward to the remakes and will have to charge up my DS.

151 was more then enough.
Kiradawea2009-12-02 22:35:13
Yellow was the only real game, because it had Pikachu!
That being said I am considering getting Platinum, but I might skip it in favour of getting Explorers of Sky. I love the Mystery Dungeon games.

hissssssss
Those games are such travesties.

Why? Cause they have great stories? The story of the first MD was awesome, and I've only heard that the second series is even better!
Also, you can catch em all without trading. How awesome is that?

1) You aren't "catching" anything.
2) Raising a pokemon from the ground up and training it to be strong and picking its moves and such is fun.
3) the story lines are fail
4) no epic battling your friends and pounding their faces into the dirt and getting to yell at them and tell them what failures they are at life.

Now you're making me miss my old Blue level 100 team.

I know, my Red team was awesome.
I still owe my sister a beating for starting my cartridge over.

Are they going to release any more brand new games (not re-releases)? I ask because "Diamond" seems like it is pretty much on the very top of the gemstone/precious metal tier. Can't beat diamonds.
I do miss the days when I could memorize all of their names, numbers, types, and basic descriptions without hurting my head too badly. My 150 critters. T_T Charmander remains my favorite ever. Bulbasaur is a close second.
But! Gold and Silver were definitely favorites of mine. I'm so, so ridiculously happy that they're re-releasing them with fancy stuff and better graphics. *buys both the second they hit shelves*

It's been following that pattern for a while, but the pattern also relies on new platforms. So, when there's a new worthwhile Nintendo handheld, you'll probably get a new generation of new stuff and remakes of Ruby and Sapphire.

Carbon Nanotubes, Powered Fullerene Weave, and Adamantium.

As a testament to my nerdiness, I have played every single Pokemon (non-Mystery Dungeon) game. Except Leaf Green, but seeing as how it and Fire Red are merely remakes of Green and Red, I really don't think I missed out on much. And I would buy Pokemon Adamantium.
Anyway, I own Diamond but I haven't played in ages, and my team is only mid-level. I'll put my friend code up once I check to see what it is, though. I am looking to be an awesome breeder, so if anyone has a spare ditto they don't want, that'd be awesome.
Pre-ordering for SoulSilver/HeartGold is open now? I should get around to doing that, then. Can't wait for April!
