Heh. You kids and your silly notions of gender identity.

I'm pretty sure that I'm so oblivious to that kind of thing as a woman that, if people were trying to stab me in the back, they find they have to stab me in the front instead for me to notice and respond. sad.gif

lol. I'm in the same boat as you on that, Nyir. o.O I'm just really oblivious to that sort of stuff.

Could always try out Marion Zimmer Bradley's books, they seem to take viewpoints from the female view. Mists of Avalon being a good one, or Ravens of Avalon. Also there's Tamora Pierce, who, while her books are more pointed towards a younger audience, are still quite good. Not all her novels focus on female viewpoints, but many of them do. Trickster's Choice and Trickster's Queen being a good series to read, Beka Cooper, and the Protector of the Small series. For a fiction/fantasy set in real life, kinda, there's Kelley Armstrong's Haunted. One series I started but haven't finished, but seems like it'd be a good one to read is the Darkglass Mountain series by Sara Douglas as well. I might be able to come up with a few more books later, just need to go through what's on my shelves. >.>

My understanding of backstabbing is that it just means someone betrayed your trust somehow. Or did something to hurt you when you thought they were your friend. Not necessarily going behind your back or sabotaging you.

For example: You tell your friend about a dress you like, then at the party you see her wearing the dress you mentioned, and now you can't wear that dress without looking like you copied her or something. (never understood that bit either)

Or how about the whole can't wear a formal dress to two different formal occasions bit? I own two suit coats. I don't intend to own more. I have no issue wearing them multiple times!

Neither do I. I don't honestly understand a lot of the "female rules" or whatever the hell you'd call 'em. I'm more or less a tomboy.

Sorry, that was my point, didn't come across right smile.gif I have yet to meet anyone who liked the later ones.

Look no further. I loved all the dune books. Couldn't stand the "Replica" dune books, but the ones that Frank actually wrote were great.

What's a "replica" did Frank write books 5 and 6?

He did. He didn't write any of the other associated books though.

I think Kial means these. The only ones I can think of and yeah, they not good.

This thread went from testosteronic wise-cracks to some estrogenuinely good perspective and advice that I have been taking into consideration as I mete out the details of this character. I am moved, and give my thanks in advance. For the references no less- next semester's book budget lost it's better third.

And no, I didn't loose interest and meander on to the next thing. I've just become a wee bit busy, what with holiday retail. I swear, I will respond to the meatier additions as soon as I have the time and energy to write something of worth.

So, see you in a week or two.
