I just looked and see only one bug about it - that you're not subscribed to, and doesn't hinder it's use at all (the only problem to my understanding is it's giving an untrapped when it shouldn't be usable).

Sup bro

(actually, to be fair, there haven't really been any serious raids or defenses while I've been back)

Sorry man, I keep forgetting you switched.

Incorrect. I will PM you shortly with the bug STILL on my list, and I still can't find a single place where attempting to use it doesn't cause an untrapped error.

Sorry but that's not quite true. I can PM/ Message/ whatever if you'd like as we can't post bug details here.

Edit: Hmm looks like it was just fixed after nearly 2 RL months.. we'll see, and thanks..

I have, a few times.

I think we're up to close to a year and a half at this point. Real life time. sad.gif

Busy Divine Patrons are busy. Busy Ephemerals are busy, too.

Aww, me and Exeryte started those. sad.gif

I've been finding Lusternia a bit boring because I've fallen to a point.. I've reached my biggest goals in the last four years I've been Dylara, and overall the five years I've been playing. Right now I'm at a standstill of well, what do I want? The answer hasn't been very forthcoming!

Since the raiding has died down, I've enjoyed myself much more.

It wasn't fun at all to have unstoppable super-zerg beat you senseless all night, and then kill the things you were defending anyway once the defenders log off. If we want combat to come back, we should look to adjusting how org balance works. Due to that pesky thing known as "free will", you can't force people on to even teams, but nor should people have to be put through a perpetual ringer for not being in the current "win" squad.

And things like domoths cranking out ascendants, despite this being gone over back during Celenwilde, only compound the existing problems.

I mean, if you want more org conflict, free will again- the side you're going to fight needs a reason to bother to participate. And being a rabbit in a wolves den isn't a particularly good reason.

If you want meaningful single combat, well, that's tricker. Too many things in combat here just utterly stack the deck against certain archetypes. And that doesn't even touch abilities that people just would rather walk away than put up with.

For me, the most fun I have with Lusternia is when we're having fun interactions during events (no matter how small said events are), and I don't have to worry overmuch about the proverbial urination occuring in the equally proverbial breakfast cereal.

When the guild started, we had all these images/messages/scripts that each of the totems would perform when you rub/touched them.

I lost the script a long time ago, but it's sad to hear they still han't been finished in one form or another.

I think the game can be more exciting now that everyone has time to do other things. Of course, it would help if player diplomacy was more than "Ur Evil!" "No Ur Evl!" "I'M DECLARING WARZ ON U!!", followed by a demi zerg. All people care about now is raiding and kills. Newsflash, the game isn't very fun if that's all you do. Eventually you will get bored.

I agree more or less. It was fun back then when I could talk with a few Celestians regarding sea-fae (commonly called kelpies), Serens regarding fae and Wydyr/Caoimhe, and Magnagorans regarding Taint/Wyrd. Now, though, all the people seem to have the thinking, "Oh dear lord, it's a Glom, it's bad!", which is pretty meh. I get bored debating and talking with other Gloms, too, since we're all practically on the same side of the argument. sad.gif

Regarding the bolded, it would really be awesome organization governments really did care about the welfare of their players/citizens/communists, especially the young ones. Would this action cause endless grief to my novices? Yes? Well, maybe we should shy away... I was slightly sad when Seren broke relations with Glom (mainly because I wanted your artisans hide.gif ), and when Celest declared war on Glom (oenoes, my kelpies sad.gif). But still, playing 3v1 is interesting, and that's something. I do hope the time comes when we go into a nice, round 2v2 again, or maybe even a free-for-all.

I also include running around Nil/Celestia/Etherealforests and killing demons in that.

I think what they were talking about is when Narsrim song-orders people to follow him into his cubix room, then kill them there away from help and with less possibility of escape than a tiger in sea.
Vaylin2009-12-16 10:52:30
Holy smokes!

Not boring at all for me, if anything I've got so much on my plate I can never eat it all.

Building on my RP (Slowly and at odds with itself, can only go up)
Learning about the history of the Geomancers
Assisting in Combat where I can
Building up combat system (From Zmud to Mush is a bit of a curve)
Assisting younguns as an Undersecretary
Developing loyalties
Bashing to level 80

Only today I started writing a book
Will be joining a ministry soon as well

My only frustration with combat is that when it doesn't happen often enough I don't have as many opportunities to learn as I'd like. I'm certainly not waiting around for it to happen, plenty else to do.

I'm sure when I reach the goals I have in mind it might become a bit frustrating but for now it's all good.

Random meetings can lead to some very interesting paths.

Just out of curiosity what sort of things do you think would make you look forward to playing more? Obviously it's a subjective thing and you'll all have different viewpoints which I'm interested in hearing. I also mean more RP wise not so much coding or skill changes etc.

Get workin' on being allowed in Glomdoring, will ya? sad.gif
I miss your order.

You and I both want to learn how to deal with sleep deprivation for great justice.
Rael2009-12-16 17:54:04
Vaylin, your goals mirror nearly identically! whatthe.gif

When I read some of these posts, I'm reminded of Nataley's motto, "Here we are now. Entertain us!" Rael is somewhat of a recluse but even then there are always things for me to do, people to meet, things to read, etc. The mud is just an environment that facilitates interaction between people. A deck of cards by itself isn't particularly interesting but with a little imagination you can design games, magic tricks, w/e to keep yourself busy.

The only reason I am not logging into Lusternia right now is because I just got a new desktop computer with Windows after having a Macbook for three years, and there are so many games I would like to play. Plus, winter break is upon me and this is the golden opportunity to play all of them. However, once I do go back (it is inevitable, since I've taken a long break twice already), I have rituals to write and Wardenhood to get and traps to disarm, as well as family goals, like getting a shop. So nope, Lusternia's not boring in itself, you just have to look hard enough.

Well. I kind of wish new avenues of conflict would open up since the old ones have essentially closed and were replaced by nothing. I really don't like jumping people, but there's really nothing else to do. 3 vs 1 started out fun, but just like Cities vs Communes, it quickly grows tiring when you have the same fights back and forth.
