Thinking about coming back

Back to Combat Guide.

So I'm thinking about coming back and giving competitive pvp another shot. I really enjoyed my Geomancer, and will probably stick with him, although I do also have a Celestine if they've gotten any better. What I wanted to get an idea of is what I still need, in-game, to get competitive (skills, equipment, levels, reincarnation, etc). Also, I'm going to need a mentor to kinda teach me the ropes, if someone can direct me to the right person.

Right now I'm a level 65 Viscanti, have no items due to decay, and my skills are below.

Thanks in advance for any and all help you guys can offer.

Personally, I think you're in decent shape. More Highmagic/Combat/Resilience wouldn't hurt.

Not sure what you mean about Celestines having "gotten any better", Celestines have never sucked.

It was probably me then. If I remember right, I didn't have a good way to actually kill someone. Of course, that could be because my (out of game) skills weren't up to par, or my in-game skills weren't.

I'd log in to look them up, but I've completely forgotten my Celestine's name, which is terrible. Who do I talk to about that? =/

You could probably email support@lusternia.com and ask them to check your IP, assuming you haven't moved houses or ISPs or anything.

I found it. I went through all my old emails.

Looking at your old posts, at one time your alt was a level 55 IMPERIAL MERIAN Celestine which is entirely unhelpful, BUT try contacting the guildmaster and I think they'll be able to find a list of all members of the guild. You're interested in the inactive ones so take a look at all the names and maybe one will ring a bell.

Hopefully you'll have better luck than Crygar, who forgot his password, switched email accounts, and eventually made a return as Cryger.

Finally welcome back.
Shamarah2010-01-21 17:33:25
Oh, yeah, you need Soulless in Tarot for the Celestine class to work at all.

What Shaddus said skill-wise. Concerning a mentor for combat in the Geos, I recommend Esano and Ceren (if he still comes around). Romero, Ruiku and the like can also provide a bit of instructive input on what's helpful for them.

Edit: Oh, and get some more levels on you. Jump on the aetherbashing train.
Tavon2010-01-21 17:53:34
Thanks for the input. So Combat/Resil/HighMagic should be my focus? (Along with practicing and getting levels, of course.) Should I keep TK (and Illusions, but I don't think I have a choice when them), and trans out illusions or whatever else I can pick up?

Also, aetherbashing? Astral was the be-all, end-all when I last played, and I could (barely) kill one or two things up there. How do I get to where I need to go for Aetherbashing?

Thanks.

I think you should talk with your guild about your skills.

Aetherhunting is nice but at your level everything will give you experience so don't worry too much.

Get up to FocusMind in discipline. It's very helpful, and the lessons in discipline will also make focus body faster and boost willpower regen.
Razenth2010-01-21 19:17:59
Combat up to shield parry, and then pump Discipline. You can get away with little Resilience/Highmagic, especially for the Celestine. High Discipline will make a huge difference, imo.

Ok, I took everyone's advice, and am returning. Just a quick question on tactics, which I will talk to my guild about (but I'm at work now tongue.gif): should I be going for a clot/heartburst/bleedout kill in general? I'm pretty sure chasm is pointless to try to get off in 1v1, comparatively speaking. Or is there another good option I'm completely overlooking?

Thanks.

Once you get back in-game, talk to Esano or Ceren about getting in the guild's combat clan. There's plenty of information in there.

But yes, you'll mostly be working towards the heartburst and bleedout. Claws in Phantasms is your friend in this, as well.
