QUOTE
Throughout the location, small dancing flames flicker and spark. <--- Pyromancy meld.
A haze of smoke rages here. <--pyromancy version of duststorm
A haze of smoke obscures the rest of your vision. <-- ditto

Meld gives blacklung, ablaze, sunallergy, slickness at least.

Thick black smoke wreaths you, and you begin to hack and cough.
A rolling wave of fire sweeps over you.
Your skin and lips crack amid this parching heatwave.
Your flesh burns as a sheet of shimmering fire envelops you.
A burning salamander breathes a cloud of superheated air into your face. <-- mount? Probably not, I think it's a meld effect.
A ball of wild fire smashes into you, searing your flesh.
Liquid fire rains down on you, broiling your flesh.
You begin to sweat profusely in this sweltering heat. <-- slickness
You breathe in some black ashes, and then begin coughing hoarsely. <-- probably blacklung, or the first one is.

The ground rocks as gouts of raging fire erupt throughout the land, becoming a blazing conflagration of roiling flames that roar out of control. <-- adds all meld effects.

After rubbing her hands together, Scuchidira pulls them apart and releases thousands of glowing red sparks that whirl around her in a chaotic dance before flaring into small flames that spread out across the expanse of the location, burning away the taint. <-- forceflame?

Scuchidira claps her hands and her head is momentarily wreathed with a crown of flames. <-- meld, I think.

Scuchidira points her staff at Lehki, and the burning ball at its tip flares and
shoots a stream of liquid fire that blasts Lehki, scorching his flesh.

Scuchidira raises her hands over her head and a ball of fire forms between her palms.
The fireball bursts but you are only assaulted by the heat of the blast.

Their version of hailstorm/boulderblast

Do you have a log of the 5 portal explosion? It does like, 2K damage plus blackout

I've seen it and had it hit me, but I don't have the log anymore. I'll post it asap..

Anyone have a clue what that corresponds to in the other mages guilds?

Proabably a unique skill.

So we're proabably looking at Damagekill mages, eh?

Probably so. I'm hoping they have an instakill like Chasm. Maybe Incinerate?

Cririk twirls his staff and a nimbus of clouds form around him, crackling with
tiny bolts of lightning.

Cririk takes a deep breath, then slowly breathes out, as the temperature in the
room falls and banks of clouds roll in.
Shaddus2009-12-20 19:22:05
I'm hoping the first is some sort of Stormshield, maybe where if you hit them it hurts you?

The second is obviously forceaero or whatever.
Genos2009-12-20 19:24:59
Aye the Twirl Staff ability does look like some kind of defence and it adds a line to his description that says Cririk Adom is standing her, surrounded by clouds. Which is amusing because I had a very similar idea when I first came up with my ideas as to what would be in the Aeromancy skillset. I cannot wait to see the Aeromancy skillset in full.
Lehki2009-12-20 20:16:17
You're right about those being forceflame and melding. And I recall her using the word cremate a few times when talking about killing Cririk. I imagined that as some kind of instant kill... or maybe a corpse destroyer.

EDIT: and I had the line of her pointing staff at me, but I can't find it now. ):

God, cremate would be awesome as a corpse destroyer. Hopefully it leaves a skeleton sticking out of the ground tongue.gif

I have the 3p staffcast, and have put it into the information listed at the top.

Isn't the entire point of cremation that it doesn't leave anything behind but a small pile of ash?

Yes and no. Even when a body is cremated, there's still some bones left that have to be physically ground up.

And what use is corpse disposal if it doesn't leave behind a calling card, amirite?

Glom's corpse disposal does not leave behind a calling card. It's still quite useful. tongue.gif

I wonder how the Ablaze affliction is gonna get used. Just an added affect to all of their attacks, or maybe something like... an ability they can only use on ablaze targets, make them go BOOM for extra damage or build up to something.
Lorina2009-12-20 20:49:18
What if it is going to be like thornrend now and ablaze is going to be on different limbs and when it reaches a certain number, BOOM! eep!

And cleanse puts them all out like ignite removes all lashes? ):
Unknown2009-12-20 21:01:14
If they did such a thing, it wouldn't be limbs, it'd be levels of ablaze.
Just saying.
Esano2009-12-20 21:08:50
Scuchidira raises her hands over her head and a ball of fire forms between her palms.
The fireball bursts but you are only assaulted by the heat of the blast.

That would be hailstorm/boulderblast equivalent.

And I'd be quite surprised if we're looking at damage mages with such a variety of afflictions; geomancers (the former damage mages, although we were harshly nerfed recently) never got such a variety, nor such powerful/speedy afflictions (blind 50% every 10s, taintsick every 40s or so, both blocked by protection. And prone, of course; lots of prone).

Of course, ablaze is already a prereq for telekinesis pyre, which can be a hefty damagedealer.
Seraku2009-12-20 21:23:08
When she mentioned destroying bodies, she said there wouldnt even be ashes left.
Furien2009-12-20 22:57:33
If Hallifax is going to get a corpse-destroying skill too I'm going to snap my keyboard in half. sad.gif
