Pyromancers are a bit of a Glass Cannon. Tear ya to pieces, but you've got nothing in your Demesne to keep you alive.

Oh, okay. I should probably dig my system up off my portable drive from where I was working on it, but I'm just incredibly lazy right now. sad.gif

Yeah, you were probably failing to restore ego.

Pyromancers being glass canons is a joke. Geomancers get no healing in demesnes either, but the pyro one can afflict even better, and probably damage better.

Yeah, I don't have a whole lot of love for the pyromancers instant kill, that looks far too easy to pull of, especially when you consider the piece of censor.gif aquamancers were given >.>

Getting to fourth degree burns is twice as hard as getting to third degree burns (which is twice as hard as getting to second degree burns, etc.). Of course, if it does seem too easy to pull off, we can certainly tweak it to make it more difficult (to get to 4th degree).

Aquamancers didn't get anything!! (If you mean Aeromancers, I assume you refer to chain lightning. We thought it was a pretty decent skill, but if it's too weak, we can certainly beef it up. We didn't give Aeros an instakill and I waffled over that and am still on the fence as the only thing we could think of was a chasm clone. I'd much prefer something unique so if you have ideas, post them and maybe that'll push the decision over the edge!)

He speaks mainly of Preserve and the freezing-aff based instakill that they can't feasibly pull off.

Testing how long burn levels take to reach, and suddenly BOOM double arm amputate.

Lawliet is just complaining that these demesnes appear to be far and away better than the already-existing-ones, heh.

Granted I wasn't trying to cure burn at the time, still insane to get a really powerful lock from just one demesne effect ticking.

Keep in mind you can apply liniment around once per second so someone can really reduce their burn levels quickly. Again, if burn levels are too easy to inflict (in active combat!), we will look towards tweaking it.

If someone was actively trying to burn you, it would be less than 20 seconds. It's a shame it would take me 500 bloody credits to prove this as I'm not going to A. Pay money to prove a relatively simple point and B. Basically spend 500 credits to get those 500 credits nerfed.

@Ninjatarra: I'm not going to teach pyromancers how to be really whore up this stuff so it can be thrown in my face until it's nerfed. While liniment is usable, you also have slickness in the demesne and tk abilities to really screw with applying. You also have power attacks and a flaming beast spit to really jack those up.

Oh yeah, when he had all the effects up I was at third degree burns on the second tic, and he wasn't even doing anything active. Applying liniment every balance and could only just barely keep it down to 1st degree.

Fair enough! We'll be keeping an eye on it!

I'm hearing people talk about how weak CL is, but we've only tested it on 4 targets and it yielded.. 'alright' damage I have to admit. The power of Aeromancy seems to be loads and loads of goddamn afflictions, but I'm questioning how reliable it is. My talk with Desitrus give me a lot of confidence about how powerful the skillset is, but I'm hoping we can squish out any bugs and tweak things to be balanced + have a cohesive strategy. I was eager to be a damage-heavy Mage and I figured lightning was so totally the way to go about it.

On the topic of an insta, I'll think of something.

Given that the figure for killing Avatar/Supernal mobs is 25, get 25 people to let 3 aeros all CL at the same time. I'm betting 75% death.

I figure you're right, but I'd seriously love to go test that. :3

Question: What happens when you run out of liniment at 1 liniment per second for the entire duration of the fight? tongue.gif That's a full alchemist-filled vial per minute. 1 vial and a sixth of another if you fill from kegs.

It's like attrition combat on steroids.

One vial and one fifth of another if you fill from kegs. Unless you have a keg-filled vial and a trans-alchemist filled vial.

Which tertiary works best with aeromancy?
Desitrus2009-12-23 18:07:00
Man just... read the TK skillset then READ the pyromancer skillset then... yeah. Give me a pyro on a test port or something I will bananajamma the wildebeast out of you.

Edit: @above, TP. Could probably do some retarded things with runes too but TP is better.
